Also the fact she was carrying around his severed head didn't do wonders for her sanity either. Even if she was resolved to become better, she had that as a constant reminder of her (perceived) failure.

She said she buried the head, though. That she 'moved on' and resolved to become more worthy of the man she murdered.

Then i guess Avare was a bigger bastard than I thought considering the lovercratian ritual at the end.
Come to think of it Avare being an ass would be expected considering how certain MMO players tend to act (and that Edda's party was based on those selfsame players)
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this story it's creepy, spooky, and heart touching. If possible SE should continue her story with next dungeon and maybe have her a good ending.
Woah.
Magnificent.
And friggin' terrifying. Like, don't-do-Expert-Roulette-before-bedtime-until-2.4, hahah...
I remember getting to Edda's stuff in the early MSQ and getting BLINDSIDED by it; my friend and I just sort of paused, laughed awkwardly and went "uh, well, that... that happened..." Did the dungeon earlier today with the same friend, and... ahahah, wow, holy crap. I'm so glad you guys had the opportunity to revisit that quiet little moment of sudden horror in a way that'd do it justice. Well done.![]()
7UP!

Um I think we're past the point where Edda became so psychotic she could easily fir in Evangalion.
Actually that would be interesting. Imaging a psyco-ghost trying to revive her equally dead fiance by converting the world's inhabitants into liquid aether. (Come to think of it it may also bring to mind Lichi Faye-Ling as well)

Does anyone have any screenshots of the dungeon? I'm interested in what the blood writing on the walls say.

Besides the main quest line, this has been my favorite part of the game. Just, oh SE did it for me here XD
It happens earlier in the game, usually around the time after having used Duty Finder in Tam-Tara. I was in Gridania when it happened, and mostly it is a little cut scene between a group of adventurers who are blaming their healer for letting their tank die. I only took it as a "don't treat your fellow party members like this," but SE obviously had other plans with that small story arc. The easiest way to check the scene I would think would be to start a new character and just rush to the Tam-Tara part and try to find the cut scene where Mother Miomia is at. It does help clarify what was really going on.
This story arc could lead to the ushering in of... wait for it... waaaaaaaaaaaait for it... Phantom Train. Or maybe Diablos HM.
