Avere (fiance's name). The smaller lettering is all just Avere as well
This storyline and subsequent dungeon were some of my favorites in the game thus far. Even before the introduction of Tam Tara HM, Edda was an NPC with depth and substance which made her memorable over the other faceless NPC's we have been doing useless quests for. I really hope there is more to this in the future.
A further nice touch to this story was as you complete the dungeon, your character does not give the /cheer emote, but gives a sad look and shakes their head.
I wish SE would give more opportunity for character emotion in the game. When I play my character, I like to believe they are unique individuals. Even if it doesn't affect the storyline, it's a nice touch to the game. I always felt hands down the opening CS to the game was well done and I actually felt like "OK, there's my character and that's what their like." Everything after that was sort of meh. But nonetheless good job on this one SE.

Bringing back people from the dead is the most extreme form of White Magic you can accomplish, as White Magic is all about restoration (Black Magic is for destruction). Being a CNJ, Edda most likely knew that with enough power it would be possible, and she was willing to go to any length to achieve that power.

Oh? I didn't know about that, though with Velox's post it makes sense.
But that wouldn't explain the Voidsent unless White Magic and Black Magic are both tied to it which I am having trouble seeing that. Also her red wedding ability seems pretty destructive to me. I don't count her other abilities since technically it's summoned voidsent. She could have just cross classed though >.>.Bringing back people from the dead is the most extreme form of White Magic you can accomplish, as White Magic is all about restoration (Black Magic is for destruction). Er... I've not followed the last page of this topic. But I feel I should inform you all that Necromancy, as such, is described as a forbidden art of Thaumaturgy in 1.0 Ul'dah story. People keep dropping Niellefresne's name if quests big and small, demonstrating Yoshida's desire to return to the plot whereby he was murdered likely for his attempt to use the forbidden art. Maybe there is a White Magic or Conjury "tradition" (heresy?) of Necromancy. I also seem to remember having read somewhere that Amdapor had both White and Black mages. Am I mistaken?
This game needs more Edda.... And I needs her facial expressions as emotes. Creepy wide mouth grin emotes please.

Darn, I knew there was an Edda thread around here somewhere - I wish I'd seen it before I started this (somewhat) related thread:

Feel free to join the broader music discussion I'd hoped the post would start!A Perfect Song for Edda, to Avere (and other songs that "capture the moment")
Perfect for a Conjurer. This Conjurer, particularly. Listen and weep. Weep a lot. A lot. No, I'm serious, have Kleenex nearby, in abundance! (And discuss: maybe there are other songs for your favorite tragic/comical/adventurous moment

I'd love to see her return as a Necromancer job trainer. Unhinged and distant, but somewhat more at peace...
She could have also gotten in touch with the Alchemy guild-master and gotten in some words with Avere. Though he'd probably insult her and make it worse... So flying demon head was probably the better choice... >_>

I could have seen something so morbid as a Necromancer job in 1.0, but with Yoshida trying to make the protagonists always Neutral Good... I have a hard time seeing that happening. But who knows? I wouldn't have seen anything so chilling as this dungeon coming with all the sanitation that the game has seen in ARR. Then they give us Tam-Tara and Hunberct's delivery quest. This game has stylistic and mood whiplash at times.
