Petition on a SE New Patcher

While they are reworking the patching system, I wouldn't mind if they scrapped that ridiculous patching interface.

Dear SE, we don't need music while we patch. We don't need directx accelerated 2D graphics while we patch. We don't need an hardware mouse pointer while we patch.

What we need is a clean and silent interface using only standard win32 widgets, a progression bar, the ability to pause the download, and to chose at anytime whether we want to use bittorrent or directly download from your server.

Oh, and you could show the lastest patch notes in that interface, as a bonus.

Agreed the patcher isn't so good but the torrent way works fine for me.

you guys just need to learn how setup your router and open the ports needed. i never took more then 20mins to download any patch from a fresh install
the patcher is the last thing SE needs to fix since its not broken.

Why don't you help by posting a link explaining how to do this, as I have searched and only found it for beta. This no longer works for me as it did in beta.

Be part of the solution instead of just a troll post of what people "need" to do.

Better yet why not write an explanation yourself of how this is done as per your router setup.

I've been doing this since beta, the problem is SE doesn't "recommend" it, which means in theory you shouldn't be using it (in theory).

If they don't want people using other programs to dl the patch then they need to fix their useless downloader.
