If Server A has a lower population than Server B, then they'd need less and more wards, respectively. But they're trying to keep the number of wards even - which will result in a surplus on lower population servers, and a shortage on higher population servers. For looking into things so "carefully", they're doing a very poor job at it. Hopefully it improves with feedback, as the dev said.
OP and I co-lead the same FC. We're just a small group of friends, around four of us in all who pulled funds together, and having to wait a whole other housing cycle is discouraging when it seems like a few people in this thread are claiming their server wards are empty. It's good to hear the dev team is listening, but why they would have launched something so crucial to the game without knowing if they have the "space" is beyond me.
Don't forget they may allow FC's to own more than one plot. Some are already doing that via small satellite FC's. That does not include others starting an FC up just to buy a "personal" house in the FC wards. Housing was messed up in the beginning by just having the plots size locked. FC's wanting to upgrade to something bigger makes you wonder how SE is going to handle this. I personally wouldn't want to see FC wards get dominated by one to a few FC's.
I don't see why FCs can't just sell back land they've purchased. Make it so you can't sell it for more than the lowest it would drop to. Might encourage people not using theirs to free it up. Won't help where FCs are simply gone, but might help if someone wants to make an offer on a plot or something.
Umm... I hope I'm misunderstanding something here.
Surely personal housing will have it's own wards and you're not expecting us to cram into the leftovers of the FC areas?
I'm sure you are aware that people who want to buy their own house outnumber those wanting to buy one FC apartment 100:1.
I'm excited that this feature that I've waited for YEARS is FINALLY coming but I hope you really deliver since anything less than a super-awesome housing system will fail to live up to the great expectations you've built for it by talking about these additions since 1.0.
Oh dear... I take it ward 6 was added Tuesday? I didn't need to check, so I didn't even think about it. I had another FC come asking for a loan to buy land yesterday before all plots were gone and I said they didn't need to worry since more wards would be added soon. ><' PLEASE add more wards! Even though personal housing will be available soon, it's not like the FCs are going to relinquish their existing house. Many players are scrounging gil to put together to buy FC land; I'd hate to see them locked out of both FC and personal housing.![]()
my company is just a little less then a week away from purchasing a large house we are anxiously trying to hurry up b4 our target house gets snatched up xD so we don't have to wait until Eorzea freezes over to get another shot at getting a large first class
So, in addition to the land race problem, what about the problems personal rooms bring? What if your FC wants to move to a new location or upgrade their house to a bigger one, and someone with a room is taking a break from the game and can't be reached to vacate their room? About 40 people in my FC have personal rooms already. If we want to upgrade our house to a mansion, do we just lose the 12,000,000 gil that has been spent unlocking personal rooms in addition to all the unremovable furniture?
Why do we even need to lose our Personal Rooms when our FC moves? Realistically, it's not like 40 rooms (each of which are bigger than the first floor of the house!) could really fit in the house anyway. The realism of going to a new house and having a different room isn't even there. These rooms HAVE to be some kind of pocket dimension or other form of magical construct or else they wouldn't fit in the house. Why can't we take the entrance to this pocket dimension with us when we move? Why are Personal Houses linked directly to the house itself and not to us, the player who bought them?
I don't get it.

Has it been confirmed chocobo stables are only for FC houses or will we be able to use them in personal housing too?
I'd like to know the answer to this as well... I'd really like to garden or raise chocobos, but my guild is small and it may take us months and months to earn the money... if we could get access to this for a little cheaper by going for separate housing it may be a better deal.
