Any chance that the fanfest ingame items will be sold on mogstation?

Also, did you know? People who join the game late won't have access to limited IN-GAME ITEMS AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE FOR A SHORT TIME? Say, a Chocobo Earring, available for 2 weeks, if the person joins 3 years from now, they'll never have access to it.


Same concept as Festival exclusive items - It's available to everyone, unless you can prove that Las Vegas/Europe/Japan banned you from ever visiting their cities. If you can't make it, that's unfortunate, but the opportunity is available as long as tickets remain, when tickets run out then there's no more opportunity.

But those items were available to everyone playing the game at the time they were given out.

Yes, FanFest is available to everyone. But not equally available. The cost disparity in money and other things (time, work-related issues, etc) is huge.

This is a weird way to look at it. The way I see it, I'm paying so botters and hackers can ruin my gaming experience, that's far worse use of your money than an item you can't access if you don't go to a festival

And I know this part was mostly in jest, but I did want to comment. Botters/spammers annoy the heck out of me in game. But that is an entirely separate issue.

If they want to give an exclusive item to the players who come out to fanfest, then that's there thing. And it should stay that way.

IIf you guys want to complain, maybe there can be a compromise. Maybe a special fanfest item for everyone, that we can all obtain for playing the game currently.
And another that only the people who go get.

That way all you "special snowflakes" can get a rare item, and the people who go to fanfest can be rewarded by se for attending.

You apologized in a previous post for your attitude, yet again your are insulting and attacking people in the thread. Sounds hollow.

Anyway, if you read my post, you'd see I acknowledged that it is the current practice. "Regardless of what they currently do, what other people do, what people have done in the past, I believe..." I was stating my opinion on how I feel it should be. I'm not saying they have to do anything. I'm not really saying they are wrong for doing it. Again, it's just my opinion on how I feel it could be done better.

And complaining and providing feedback are different. From what I saw, this thread was started as a request/feedback in response to their stated intentions for FanFest. One of the primary reasons for having official forums is to get feedback from players. If you don't agree, then you don't agree. But don't belittle and attack other posters for having a different opinion than you.

Everyone is a special snowflake at times, me included, and I do tend to... Improperly direct wordings. And this thread just has A lot of people who have differing opinions, which tends to cause headbutting, lol.

Non the less. Feedback is nice. But sometimes everyone takes it too far. It just amazes me that people get so upset that someone gets something they don't. And the opposite, which is where I stand, the people who get irritated at the people who think they are entitled to every little thing given out. Wether it's supposed to be special for certain people or not.

Still, I'll post again and again my dislike for the people who think they deserve every special item

I was not thrilled when I saw that an exclusive in game item would be given away at fanfest that you could only get by going to fanfest. I mean I don't mind exclusive items for pre-ordering the game or an expansion or even an item given for doing limited events in the game but I don't want go to Vegas/London/Japan for an event in real life just to have the chance of getting that exclusive item in game. I'd rather play FFXIV online instead of doing that. Not to mention the amount of "real" money that I would have to spend and time I'd have to give. In game should stay "in game" or at very least be nothing more than pre-ordering something for that said game, in this case FFXIV. If it is something really cool like a mount/minion, I'm going to be pretty upset. If it is some FF themed earring or necklace, meh whatever.

Guess what? Those that didn't pre-order or couldn't due to money (common excuse against this), will NEVER get those items again as the code expiration past.

How is the fanfest one any different? Both were limited exclusive items. None of which could be sold to other players in game.

Yeah, but that has to deal with pre-ordering the game itself... not going to some goofy cosplay event at only 3 locations in the whole world... I can understand some people are into that whole thing and good for them but I'm not. I enjoy playing FFXIV online and getting my in game items that way or at very least buying something that expands the game itself.
