I would say closer to 5%. But it's better then nothing. Feeling sadder as a warrior, but as for PLD, it's good to have. Most of 2.2 content are physical which is a far cry from 2.1 magic frenzy. So foresight is pretty useful again.To explain why exactly Foresight is so bad, 20% defense is basically a 7-10% reduction in physical damage taken, which means it does absolutely jack and squat for magic. Rampart is a 20% reduction in *all* damage taken. Rampart applies to all damage and is about 2-3 times more effective.
The natural variation in damage is +/-5%. Foresight is big enough that the lowest damage you'll take while it's up is higher than the highest damage you'd take while it's down. As such, it's a fair deal bigger than 5%.
