I'd rather bet on my healing power than on luck. Crits are good, but i don't think throwing away a weapon and lose precious main stats and healing power from the weapon is worth the 1% crit chance i'd get.
For Bards - High Allagan>Novus(Crit+Det)>Rosenbogen>Tidal>Weathered Rosenbogen>Wave
+2 Upgrade in base damage just trumps everything else. Novus is better then rosenbogen, but pricetag is a bit high
Accuracy is manageable problems as you really need only around 480 acc to have reasonable amount of misses that does not yet lower your dps.
Not really. As secondary stats have different conversion rates to main stats, on certain occasions you can lower your overall dps.
For example - equipping bards 100 hat over 90 AF hat drops dps by ~2-3 points as +3 to dex does not compensate switching from crit on AF to skillspeed on weathered hat.
The answer to this question is "get whichever one you have the opportunity to get first"
If you want to consider 110 weapons too, the Novus might be the best option of one has a lot of time on their hands and doesn't see themselves clearing Turn 8 anytime soon.
However, Daily Hunts in 2.3 are allegedly going to provide both Sands and Oils as possible rewards, so upgrading that Soldiery Weapon might not be so difficult after all...
First, unless I'm bad at math, we should probably stop thinking of 39 crit or so as 1% Crit Rate, as that 1% isn't the only thing in play here. The fact is that Crit Rate has diminishing returns.
Going from 0% to 1%, your chance to crit increases by infinite.
Going from 1% to 2%, your chance to crit increases by 100%.
Going from 2% to 3%, your chance to crit increases by 50%
...
Going from 18% to 19%, your chance to crit increases by 5.3%.
Going from 19% to 20%, your chance to crit increases by 5%.
...
Going from 98% to 99%, your chance to crit increases by 1%.
Every percentage point increase gives a smaller benefit than the last. Once you're hovering around 20%, you can really afford to lose one without magically losing 95% of your effectiveness. Critical Hits are nice, but they shouldn't be used as a crutch. Even Scholars should learn to trust higher consistent numbers more than RNG.
