Question about special fan fest in-game items

They said everyone who purchases a ticket will get an in-game item. However, they didn't say whether or not you actually have to attend the event to claim your item. That said, the tickets cost $120 each ... Which is quite a big price to pay just for an in-game item lol

Each Fan Festival ticket bearer will receive a select number of goodies at the event, including an in-game item (details to be announced later). Please note however that these items will not be shipped and can only be received at the event itself.

They stated directly that you have to attend the event in order to obtain the item.

Each Fan Festival ticket bearer will receive a select number of goodies at the event, including an in-game item (details to be announced later). Please note however that these items will not be shipped and can only be received at the event itself.

As most promotional in-game items thus far (Moogle Earrings, Wind-Up Dalamud, bahamut minion, onion helm, etc.) require a code, chances are any in-game items you can obtain will be physically given to you and will not automatically be applied to the account.

What I would like clarification on is if someone buys a ticket and then ends up not being able to go, or if someone purchases multiple tickets for themselves and friends (say 4 tickets) and 2 friends can't go, can their items be picked up by a friend that is attending or do their items get lost forever?

There is literally no information on this and no "contact" on the teaser site.
