This. We get a new source for Alex in 2.3, but I highly doubt that the quest itself will be extended.

However, I do not think it will be any form of useful upgrade because High Allagan weapon will still remain the best until 2.4.

Not so sure about that. I think there's every chance that 2.35 upgrade would push these to i115 or i120, there really should be a period before 2.4 where Zodiac beat HA. HA will have been top tier for nearly 6 months, and as we've seen that's highly unusual in this game. Not to mention that fact that delaying an ilvl upgrade further, or supplanting it with (another) cosmetic upgrade will annoy a vast amount of people. Zodiac will probably be trumped by Coil weapons in 2.4 anyway, and it's not like people are going to complete the upgrade on the first day of 2.35.
