Dead/Bad players and winning loot

The one thing I dislike which sadly seen a few times, is PF group, someone will be asked to change jobs and they say they were here for X item and changing means they can't roll need, the party then assures them they can still lot it and win it as people will pass as the person changed jobs to help, then chest pops and someone else rolls on it.
Seen a few times now, one was a SCH friend who got asked to change to BLM, and she was told sch drops are hers, then loot comes and she loses out and not even a sorry

This happened last night in a Levi EX party I was in. The monk died multiple times, and ended up falling off the boat. Ended up winning the monk weapon AND the Leviathan barb.

I feel like i should mention in this thread that i did Crystal tower for the first time today without looking up any of the fights stumbled and tripped my way through the fights and then walked out with four crimson pieces even though i had to roll vs two other people.

Hm, most of the times when I'm dead or nearly kill the party, my loot dropped.. Coincidence? I think not..
When i perform flawless though.. Never a single loot.

It's probably pretty easy to find it funny when, you know, it can't possibly happen to you, since you're a developer rather than just a player. </3

(Ok, it is funny, but becomes less funny with how annoying it is to get loot in this game. It took me 50+ wins to even SEE the caster ring drop from Garuda EX, and that's like 20% or thereabout drop rate. I can't wait to see how long it takes to get a Mirror of the Whorl, since that's clearly a 1% drop rate.)

I've done probably 30-35 Levi EX runs and never seen one drop.

this. carried a team through brayflox HM. healer was highest at i83, lowest was a dragoon still wearing mostly AF with an unfinished relic.
