Problem is, the system seems to be abused far more than it is used for it's intended purpose. I mean how many time's have you been unable to continue a dungeon because someone went AFK for an hour, honestly?

before it was put in game it was quite common to have 1-2 people queue and go afk at the start of the dungeon and expect the rest to carry them through. that was very common and the exact reason people asked for it to be put in.

Pre vote kick, it was common for every single CM or prae for someone to go afk knowing nothing can be done! happened on all servers to near entire player base on a daily basis

about every other run someone was afk before the vote kick feature was put in.

since you want to use stats. i doubt i've been involved in a kick(initiating or voting in one) 4-5 times. before it was put in i can bet there were hundreds of times we had people afk as the start of a dungeon expecting us to carry them. keep in mind that vote kick has been in longer than not so it's a much bigger sample size and it still happens much less often.

Well from my experience I've seen more cases of correct use than misuse.

The most questionable one I've experienced was initiated by me, due to a French person in the English queue not able to understand a boss mechanic, not able to understand our explanations and 4 wipes in a row, 40 minutes of a dungeon stuck at the first boss.

This forum is a minute slice of the community and, as forums tend to be, it's a drama and complaint board. People who are fine with the system because they know what they're doing and never get kicked, the vast majority of players, don't bother making threads about how they never get kicked.

Like I said, I have *NEVER* seen vote kick abused in person. Every single use of it in game I have ever witnessed was from players that were offline (for a few minutes), players that were AFK/just following without fighting in Main Story dungeons or CT, or CT players that were obnoxious and abrasive. It was an absolutely necessary tool in each and every instance. I also personally witnessed many players in main story dungeons that would just AFK without even pretending to be there and hope to get carried. That behavior is much less prevalent now, and anyone who attempts it is always vote kicked quickly.

Last week? 2 Times.

Because you can't do anything the first 5 minutes, people like to go afk .. some just go offline if they don't like the dungeon.
