As much as I feel so sorry for the poor girl, does anyone else seem to suspect that this might be yet another example of Ascian meddling? I mean, the last time we see Edda, she's makes a vow to honour Avare's memory and to better herself by returning to her hometown and restart her training as an adventurer by using the player as an example to follow and aspire to be like. Now she's gone completely off the rails and is resorting to necromancy to bring him back?

Although everyone deals with grief of losing a loved one differently, the total reversal of her attitude and apparent emotional defeat in dealing with losing her fiance does seem suspicious to me, especially given most of the events in story dungeons directly or indirectly were revealed to be a result of Ascian machinations (Toto-Rak, Haukke Manor SM, Stone Vigil SM to name a few), so it wouldn't surprise me if Edda really did try to deal with the grief of losing her beloved, only to fall victim to an Ascian who seized on her weakened emotional state and made her a deal too good to be true - a way to bring her beloved Avare back to life, not realizing just what a horrible mistake she was making. Which would make going through this dungeon even more depressing.

Either way, I really hope poor Edda's story has a happy ending that she deserves.

To me it appears she has indeed lost some sense of right and wrong, resorting to seemingly anything to attempt to bring her fiancé back from the dead (looks like that may have gotten ugly). As to the Ascians influencing her, it's possible. In my opinion though, this could very well be her own doing. Love causes people to do some crazy things...some crazier than others. I don't see this ending well for Edda, regardless.

The Ascians probably have nothing to do with her doing these... horrific things in the Tam-Tara Deepcroft. If anything, she could have done some research on the lost civilization of Amdapor and their White Magic.

This is a possibility. The demons we saw in the Lost City of Amdapor prior to Diabolos make this a bit more likely, as they appear in Tam Tara HM as well (the ones with multiple heads). The Ascians seem more concerned with affecting or causing events on a much larger scale with far-reaching consequences, so this would probably be below them, in a sense.

It could be that one of the fanatics found out about her fiance dying and promised her his revival based on some conditions.

Or maybe some sort of magic in the deepcroft is causing her inner desires to become twisted and be displayed like that despite her not necessarily going through with any crazy revival plans. For all we know, she could be enlisting the adventurer to help clear out the dungeon. I'd like to think that she's hasn't gone crazy, clearly. Poor girl.

If you notice all of the red candles around the final battle field, it literally is like a summoning ritual for bringing forth a otherworldly spirit. I've seen my fair share of dark rituals (séances) before, and red candles are used when calling forth the spirit of a departed loved one. The red represents the love and blood of the deceased you so cherished.

A interesting thing about the final boss of Tam Hard is if you look at the trailer it seems Edda will be helping us fight the final boss but there are mechanics for the boss that focus on the boss manipulating her emotions and we will have to protect her from the boss manipulations.

It seems the fight will be a guard NPC mechanic type of boss fight.

Also, I don't have my Eorzean script image handy for easy reading but I've very sure that is actually Avare's name written on the ground ad nausum that forms the summoning circle. So yes, it's clear she's using necromancy to try and bring him back. And from what we've seen, in typical fantasy fashion, things don't go as planned...

To be honest, i wouldn't mind it having a bad ending. Almost everything in any game always ends good anyway.

I think they should add more of this "horror" type of content.
