    What job roles a class branches into doesn't particularly matter because it's the class that levels, it takes 2 seconds to swap from one job to the other. So long as they occupy different niches (not necessarily different roles) then I don't see an issue with Rogue branching into Ninja and Thief jobs.

    I'd love a Rikku style Thief job working as a pseudo-support melee-bard type job, but whether or not that will work with Rogue/Ninja really does remain to be seen.

    Edit: Because Arcanist branches into a DPS and Healer people seem to jump to the conclusion that it has to be that way with every class but it really doesn't, it would be nice if most classes could end up that way as it would really help queue times I think, but SE shouldn't try to force jobs that won't work onto classes just to try and make sure every class can fill 2 different roles.

    Dragoon was more wanted than monk because it increased the dps of bard, which was considered a job that was always needed for everything sometimes in twos(Turn 2,etc.), and because of mechanics like rot, tornados, and just monks at the time being generally bad, most people were kind of sketchy on doing pugs,df, and even inviting melee's in general. If you didn't deal with this I really question your maining Monk through 2.0 to 2.2, the monk temple was filled with talk of melee bane on all different worlds. You must of gotten really lucky with nice people.

    Also in order to show your skill they have to actually party with you first. those two go hand in hand.

    I know there was a melee bane because I dealt with it. People I never even met were scared I'd be bad at dodging or just suck because I played melee, they saw I was good and it worked out and i made friends. But you have to be given that chance first by people who are nice enough. Just because it can happen doesn't mean it will.

    Also if you've played any game with balancing you should know theres no such thing as perfect balance. I expect the devs to do their best. But only so much can be done. they didn't think T9 could be cleared with i90's and were proven wrong. It's just the nature of the genre.

    Pretty much everything he said was correct. Class is the generic term used in most games to describe what this game calls jobs. You can keep trying to ignore his point because he's using the generic term instead of the specific term used in this game, but that doesn't make you right. It just makes you look dishonest. And your entire last sentence is just silly. Everything he listed is a job, and yet you decide to "quest him intelligence." I'd be curious to see what kind of quest gives someone else intelligence. >_>

    1000 character limit and an incomplete sentence. You should of waited for the edit(like this one did) after seeing the sentence just stop like that. Only reason I reposted the notes was because I assumed you wanted more info or a source or something. So I looked up the notes.

    It wasn't a monk ban. melee bane, ban=/=bane, lots of people didn't really want or like melee and thought it was dangerous to bring one over a ranged character (more recent was garuda extreme when something like this happened for melee). You just got lucky. there's plenty of pages in the monk temple on this topic among the buffs and the excitement for them. It wasn't impossible just more unlikely to get a party as a melee back then.

    I just dunno how you could have missed this information or not noticed your damage just increase overnight after a patch. also while it wasn't noted inside the patch notes as far as I can tell they also fixed bootshine to auto crit during perfect balance.
