Legit Answer: Because it doesn't matter what someone plans to do with the drop once they have it. Those who've put in the time and effort have earned their right to roll on it.
So it comes more down to: "Should I be nice and let someone who gets use out of it try their luck or should I should be that guy and take it even though I have zero use for it?"

Yes. Both people participated in the fight, so both can roll on it.
You say zero use, but to someone that wants it, it's not zero use to them. If you wanna be nice and pass all drops to others, go for it dude.
Who says you won't get use out of it? I grabbed gear from Coil as a WHM for my SCH (Gloves, Legs, Feet) even though I had better gear for my job on. Am I not entitled to do that? What about side-grades? Taking melee accessories when I have one already so I have options depending on what I am running? And is Glamour is not a valid reason?
If I farm a dungeon/trial for a drop, whether its apparent I can use it or not, I can Need on whatever class gear drops that I want to, and Greed the rest. Only time I do not is if there are loot rules for that party.
Right........or it could be that people may want it for glamour, seals, retainers, to complete a set (plenty of completionists in this game..), and who knows what else. They have just as much right to the item as you.
