the oldschool RPG is dying in this decade

we have a lot of great 3D engine and all RPG will become action/realtime battle system

turn-base style, slow battle are too old and can not compete in this era anymore

gamers these days want to play a game with more real action, that's why FPS is the most popular game genre (even if I hate FPS but I have to admit)

FFXIV has a boring battle system. It's too slow, need stamina, too long cast time, less movement, less action, less animation

I don't like FPS games either. My first taste of all this dodging that I'm talking about is from Fantasy Earth Zero, which was also made by SE. To be able to move in the game in anyway you see fit is the future of videogames. If you look at what people are doing with the kinect and playstation move, eventually MMORPG will apply that to their games. You hop here, you hop there, you swing a sword, you make certain motions with the wand to cast a spell. Turn based, stationary battle is a dying breed. MMORPGs will soon stop making people fat.
