For the sphere when you don't have a good coordination it may be better to have the offtank pop a big CD and do them himself while being healed.Sadly most of the Ultima HM wipes I had to put up with where because that last phase Tethered Spheres. I went through so many wipes because players could never move properly for them. Once I finally went in there with a reliable player the tank, myself and that another player did that last phase on our own and it was a sure kill afterwards but it did take a couple attempts to get used to the Tethered Spheres we were tackling due to the allotted time you are given to tackle those last spheres.

Just did Ultima HM unsuccessfully via DF this weekend.. and at least tank wise yes the ilvl is really low, I think its at something like i62 and we had a tank that kept getting one shot even before defractive kicked in. Can't speak for DPS since we didn't get to the "bit" stage. ^^;
very easy, go in, tell people to dodge and tanks to swap. on the 1st 2 orb phases run as a group, save lb for tank on last orb phase and have everyone crash. easy and if you need the dps live till you get echo. as its a hm fight the echo goes pretty high. if they cant listen to that, then they deserve to die.
I actually find the bigger issue being the fact that the rewards are not worth the effort it takes to down Ultima HM. Especially with coil getting nerfed. But yes, the ilv req is a tad low. But then again, the only accurate ilv req so far are only the HM dungeons and Coil.

You pop the Tank Limit Break for those orbs (if your dps was low it's 3 bar LB) and anyone can pop any and all of those balls without dieing.I don't think it's the ilevel and more like rope jumping required...mainly those crushing orbs. You basically win the fight every time but because sticking together to kill 4 of these orb links isn't intuitive at all your party ends up dying to them most of the time.
I ran the dungeon at least 20 times last week and won only once because all the parties kept on dying to that same last orbs mechanic at the end. So we basically have the skill the win the fight but because we didn't jump the last rope we lose.
At least in Titan EX you jump the ropes on your own and you learn as you die from them, but I really question the decision to make those orbs instant death mechanics when it requires 7/8 or 8/8 people to to all be alive to all handle those orbs at a very specific time, less than 5 seconds. That shouldn't call for instant death...
That's all it takes a button press from either of the 2 tanks.

Sadly not many of the tanks that queue'd up could survive the 3rd sphere even with tank lb 3. That's why I decided to simply pop manaward or manawall and take 2 myself to finally be done with it.
There was no point in relying on a strategy that is not gonna work.
Seriously ? i mean with LB3 + sprint i think anyone can take the four ( maybe they'll die with the fourth if they don't have a lot of health ) but LB 3 is something like 75% damage reduction.

Quoted for truth. Last time I was in Ultima HM, it was to help a group on PF that hadn't beat it before. Mostly i90 and some Soldiery. With full Echo, the group still could not make it past the first set of lasers. I would think the passive HP recovery + Medica II would be enough to make everyone un-killable at that level, but I guess not, plus I was top DPS by far as Tank so....

Not sure about that either.. HM HM was a bit low too.. good luck with the last boss without decent DPS. >_<;; Maybe they nerfed it though, I haven't touched any of the original "HM" dungeons or Pharos since 2.2 hit.
Did you not hear the man? It is impossible! (He has no idea how this game works: see his posts about focus target and Twintania)
The strategy is simple: one tank pops LB2 or 3 and everyone else just eats the damn bombs randomly. Even the main tank can help do it. I've done it as MT, just pop a CD and ram your head into the spheres. Been doing this since the fight was released, back when the accessories it dropped were actually meaningful. Your healer could just be spamming AoE heal at this point, it doesn't even matter.
