Anyone else think the ilvl requirement for Ultima HM is too low?

Been trying like hell to pug this in DF(in my monk gear) for a while now and it seems like no group I've been in has come close. After my first run as a whm and looking at the gear for some of the party members, they seemed really undergeared for what i think the fight requires. Anyone else running into this problem or have had similar thoughts?

IMO its more considered extreme mode, since its alot harder than any HM and also refering to the Echo steps.

Duty finder has been the most god awful place lately. I've not been able to clear anything in it above titan HM. People coming into garuda ex with moogle weapons, people not knowing the fight and trying to "blend in" while wiping the party....

ultima hm is more about dodging mechanics and coordination than raw numbers. the dps check at the end is quite small and most groups dont even see it he dies so fast.

the real trick is getting everyone to coordinate on the last set of orbs. this is where ive seen most groups fail, even premades. other than that its usually just 1 or 2 people that cant dodge in the earlier phases..

No, no, no. The entire fight is a dps check. Ultima has an 11 minute or so enrage and yes, it's very easy to hit enrage. If dps is low or dps dies too much, you will not kill it in time.

11 minutes is mooooore than enough time to beat ultima even at the base ilvl. once again it falls back to dps being able to dodge. if they can dodge they could meet the dps check, naked most likely

Back before it had the echo, I saw many parties wipe because of the enrage. I seldom saw groups that had enough dps/could stay alive to actually kill the damn thing.

then that is just bad dps, it has nothing to do with ilvl

Create your own party, Set Ilvl higher then the minimum. problem solved. The Ilvl requirement on fights are the bare minimum, and require a fair amount of skill to win a bare minimum.

I don't think it's the ilevel and more like rope jumping required...mainly those crushing orbs. You basically win the fight every time but because sticking together to kill 4 of these orb links isn't intuitive at all your party ends up dying to them most of the time.

I ran the dungeon at least 20 times last week and won only once because all the parties kept on dying to that same last orbs mechanic at the end. So we basically have the skill the win the fight but because we didn't jump the last rope we lose.

At least in Titan EX you jump the ropes on your own and you learn as you die from them, but I really question the decision to make those orbs instant death mechanics when it requires 7/8 or 8/8 people to to all be alive to all handle those orbs at a very specific time, less than 5 seconds. That shouldn't call for instant death...
