I feel they should expand alot of what is in the game to more serious endgame activities.

You can add rare maps that can be found that require say 24 ppl when they add the alliance system later down the line.

The new hunts they are adding can have tiered progression. Similar to ZNMs in XI where you kill the entree and got items to spawn harder and higher tiers.

Crafted forced spawns which claim to the party/alliance that spawns it.

Expand the Leve system to say maby allow FC to purchase a special leve for say maby 20-30k FC points, which spawns a special NM Leve with a decent reward. This would tie Open world, FC activities, and allow guilds to do things together.

There is so many things that could be done that would not allow for the NM camping that so many are against. I hope SE eventually does some of them. And not make it all vanity, which is a whole other problem.

    Prefer more open world stuff.

Yet I wish open world stuff was also more rewarding not just gil, ingredients, and other junk but actual. "X person died and he had some materia on him go retrieve" kind of reward. Only thing that does that currently is the AF quest line.

Also that one FATE near quarrymill. Why isn't there more FATEs like that.

I want to be able to explore instance/dungeon areas without having to go into an instance.

It will technically still be an instance, but not having to deal with stringent group and time restrictions would be nice.

Instances close off the world and turn things into a lobby server style of gameplay. This should be limited not a focus ever. It is a path the genre has been moving which has been eating away at what makes a mmo a mmo.

Should there be instances yes, should the game be focused on them... no. There needs to be in my opinion a 50/50 mix of open world content and instanced content. The open world needs meaning as well, not just filler content.
Both of you make a similar claim so I'm quoting both of you. My question to you is that with the simplistic enemies in the open world and the extreme lack of danger they involve, how does open world mean anything different? Yeah there are other players you see running past but they might as well be npc's as there is no need to talk to them to work together for anything in the open world. When nothing poses a challenge for a solo player to brute force in the open world, the open world might as well be a single player title.

If it's the simplistic content open world has been for at least half a decade now it will be once people are done leveling thru it, outside of fates, which are just zergs.

Just take XI as an easy example, claiming mobs was both time consuming and annoying, and even when you claim the mob, you would open that's it and more often than not it was but there were those occassions when the person that lost would attempt to kill your group by drawing in mobs or other obnoxious actions to cause mischief towards the group in the PVE environment.

Instances are used to prevent this and if you want to blame anyone for the focus on the instance content just look at your fellow players that used tactics like killing other players and lagging out players in a PVE environment where the only variables for that fight should of been the players skill against the monster.

Instances just allow the developers to have an easier time to focus on making content and it also allows for less time to be spent wasted on having to file reports for wiping another group, ruin the experience for other players and allows players to focus more on playing via skill.
This is also a good point. It's much easier to troll in the open world. Open world raid bosses are easy targets for this.

Open-world pl0x, all I do in this ''mmorpg'' is sit in Grindania and queue for instances.. waiting for the timers... which is instant.

I think it would be great to have optional open-world zones with very strong, dangerous enemies. Maybe those zones could house some of the most difficult hunts. I wasn't a big fan of FFXI, but I thought the NMs were a nice aspect.

Yeah I wouldn't mind that as long as we are free to explore on our own.

I'd say it's much easier to troll in instanced content, you will never meet the players again hence no need to worry about blowback from being a less than ideal member of society.

    @Kerberon

This is internet and i can be misread, i'm writing this calmed, serious and w/o bad intentions.

This thread is asking for preferences and instead you're trying to enforce your opinion.

I can understand you like instances, some ppl is just not made for open world, but it has as many cons as instanced content, you may want to have all the development resources put on designing instanced content, but MMOs are business and we are customers, and a good amount of those customers is asking for instance content, if you don't like it don't play it, they will keep releasing instanced content, but don't try to enforce your opinion to make us reject open world content because that's not gonna happen.

If i'm wrong and those are not your intentions, just help us to give feedback to make open world content you can enjoy.
