How about zones with no crystals that you have to traverse through to get to a dungeon or instanced fight, similar to Chimera and Hydra at launch. Also make the zones with enemies all +5 levels above you and no warp point or hometown in them. Call them "Barren Zones" as they have been ravaged by the Calamity and no one other than us brave adventurers will venture through them in search of spoils and dangerous bounties.

The mobs would still need their speed doubled or more and to not have leashes anymore. They need to chase till killed or you die.

I just saying that the difficulty spikes too much right around those fights, and that it would be nice to have fights that are a little bit easier than those two, but a bit more difficult than the earlier turns to make the transition into the more difficult raids a bit easier.

Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.

I would like some underground zones. I would especially like some open world zones full of mobs that require multiple people to kill. I've never understood why MMOs don't have this.

I have mixed feelings. I like other content to do outside dungeons, where you're limited to play only with a certain amount of players. But in the other hand, world content limits a vast majority of players because others camp the content, unless they're fate-like, where everybody could get the rewards.

Instance. I like the open world as it is now: it's beautiful, and I like to travel through it relatively safely so I can look around, stop whenever I want, or craft outside of cities. Instanced battles allow for more freedom in mechanics because the party size and composition is set.

I personally think more open world would be nice, but then again I could be thinking that because we've had no new open world (other then the wolves den) since launch - I may be wrong on that, though.

Personally dependent on how much they're going to add in the expansion I'm in no hurry to see anymore new areas. But maybe in the future they could implement new area's to accompany new dungeons, obviously, not for every new dungeon they introduce but just a small area that fits in nicely with the lore of the dungeon.

This game already have instances and SE is going to add even more, is time to develop open world content, i think the new areas should be dangerous for high lvl players, ilvl90-100+, full of dungeons and NMlike fates(so everyone can get the reward based on participation, but you lose part of the participation if you die and all of it if you return), with some dodge mechanics like titan plumes, of course the maps should be huge and very low on aetherytes, maybe just one in the entrance.

There are ways to make fun and difficult open world content, we just have to think about it and not just reject it, also i getting claustrophibic with so much instance, i'm sure i'm not alone

Open world content is like communism. Good in theory, but never works in real life.

For example it is fun to walk around the world and run into a big nasty monster and call for help and beat it down. But in reality you won't run into a monster, you will run into 100 people camping the spot with bots to claim it.

Same with the so called dangerous area. We all know how those areas were solved in FF11. Sneak + Invis because it takes too much time to kill trash mobs on the way. So in this game if we had an area with dangerous monsters, your solution would be to chocobo past them due to them giving up, or changing class to DoL and invis past them. Worst case nothing of this works, but you'd still try and run behind every mob and yell insults at any team member who screws up sneaking past.

Obviously you have no idea what open world content means.

I'm all for harder rare battles and hard to reach areas. However if you think about enemies in this game they would need more complex linking an ai to work. An enemy who you can't outrun from it's leash would need to kill you in one or two hits to make killing them necessary and with that they would be impossible to beat.

If they chased you until you die then they could be hard and balanced.
1.0 totally already had this btw
