Sadly most people never experienced 1.23 and only remember 1.0. Back when 2.0 was announced I think a lot of us expected SE to continue in the direction of 1.23 and just fix the UI and server lag.
2.0 is fine but I feel like I'm playing a game closer to phantasy star or diablo than an actual open world game.
I know this is rhetorical but from an investment point of view it actually is way better to have the latter for time value of money and market share reasons. The faster you get your RoI the better which goes a long way to explain the "pay2play then free2play a year later" model of many mmos.
For a money making concept it is 100% better the get the masses up front.I know this is rhetorical but from an investment point of view it actually is way better to have the latter for time value of money and market share reasons. It is why almost everyone does it. Massive income = higher stocks = more money for investors = more bonuses for the executives. More money now, more to invest in other projects, even greater change to make more money.
Or in most cases company borrows money to make game. They need massive profits or their investors get angry. SO they go for the big initial profit.
The video game genre is not about makiing truly great games anymore... it is about making a quick buck. It is why not only the mmo genre, but the video game genre is just hurting atm.
Why does this need to be posted now.
Reason XXXX doesn't matter it did, They changed they make it good.
The reason FFXIV 1.x failing for me isn't even on your list.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
