Need more context. What gear made up his i103? was there a 2nd monk in the grp on dK duty? Popped X-potions? When exactly did he pop em? Used Fracture whole fight or no fracture? Was he critting like a maniac? High skill speed? HIgh skill speed on top of Selene? 4 dps or 5 dps?if u want proof of someone breaking the 500 dps mark in t8,here it is:

I need more info to know if that is an anomaly or the norm for that particular person, and what specifically allowed him to reach that for full encounter.
5 dps.
There is a monk on dragon kick duty, 2 bards, and selene is used.
That is all I can gather from the screenshot
Stealing Bismark guy is the other monk. In the column for job, he's the only one with what looks like a job starting with M.
Most likely as well. If you pop it at start, you can use it 2 times in a 8 minutes 27 seconds fight.
There are 3 people with the letter B for class, most likely 3 bards or 2 bards 1 black mage so I'd imagine with Fracture.
He hid the crit% column so no idea.
5 dps. There's only one person with the letter P(Paladin), the last person on the list with the W is a White Mage.
Things of note, he also took significantly less damage than the other people so most likely he's just there for DPS to see how high it can go. Also, this is the maximum, not average. Of course it'd be much higher since they specifically arrange a team comp and strategy to achieve it.

Is this how people generally talk about DPS figures? Because that seems pointless if so. Unless it's 512 for the duration it doesn't really mean anything.
No, I'm just saying that guy who replied and said monk averaging 500 is just.... yeah unrealistic. They specifically arrange a team comp and strategy to get above 500, not something you should expect from every monks.
hmm,I only occasionally look up a bit about Lucrezia, but I will try to see what I can gather from their twitters,Need more context. 1.About that monk(Eis Renard)'s gear at that time, since its almost a month ago I dont recall clearly anymore,I actually read up about this a week later than their post and I vaguely remember by the time I went to check his gear,he had HA weapon and some heavily melded craft pieces.
2.Yes,the one doing 400ish dps in that screenshot is the second monk, they basically had their MT switched to monk and do DK for Renard, also according to their wording on twitter Renard was free from any mechanic duty in the fight during that time.
for reference, here is the result of their earlier attempts with this method:https://twitter.com/Lucrezia_Alex/st...09859624394752
3.other than that, yes they used Selene, ran 5dps; Renard mentioned that he usually popped potions twice due to the fact that the fights ended within 9 minutes, but not specifically on when.Beyond the above I really have no idea :/
overall they did this for fun and to test how much a monk can pull off in that situation, even Renard himself did say that he assumed anyone could have reached 500+dps if given the same conditions.

Ah i see. Thanks for the info. I think i could pull off the same conditions as our ot/healer (depending on turn) knows how to monk, but usually he goes sch for t8 so our normal sch can be the 2nd bard during that turn. While impressive, I'm looking for something more in line with "normal rotation" conditions i guess. i.e. me having to do everything a mnk would normally do rotation wise, as I'm pretty much on boss whole fight as well. I did get some tips earlier in thread with managing the dots on both dread and avatar, so I'll be trying that out too.
I guess outside of that in my current gear I'll pop a couple HQ X-potions for kicks and see how much difference it makes. I really dont feel like spending more soldiery since we beat t9 in current gear, and then have pieces drop for me in coil after i just spent the soldiery would not be a good feeling xD.
