I don't know about that. Some of Soken's works get very annoying to listen to after awhile. For example, the day time BGM in Uldah with the blaring trumpets. It was great at first but now it really gets on my nerves. I wonder if I'm the only one that gets that way. /shrug

That's pretty much my only complaint regarding the game's OST. It's just too short. Though my first time in Lost City of Amdapoor, I couldn't help but comment on how beautiful the music is. So soothing.

Titan after heart trumps all music. Than it is the music that play during guildheist. I haven't played 1.0 but I listened to the soundtrack. I love the 1.0 Gridania theme. Better than 2.0

I was blown away by 1.0 sound track.
by 2.0 i start to close by BGM. What ever the reviews say how good was the bgm.. is bullsh1t.

As a FF fan myself, Nobuo Uematsu is the background sound of Final Fantasy.

1.0's downfall has nothing to do with the BGM.
Please get Nobuo Uematsu back into Final Fantasy ARR

I like Nobuo Uematsu (though he's nowhere near my #1 favorite game music composer) but saying that the BGM review is "bullsh1t" is just.. well.. "bullsh1t" in itself. 2.0 has plenty of good music, and it might not suit your tastes but everyone's tastes is different. Soken did a decent job.

I think people generally give Soken too little credit. He did a good job, all things considered. If you listen to his pieces, they may not have the same feel as Uematsu's work, but they do fit the tone. I actually blame the lack of musical prowess on the part of whoever is in charge of deciding how to use it. Music seems to be taking a backseat with actual application in this game, with some exception. Places like Lost City have absolutely beautiful music to it that fits perfectly. It's prevalent (you won't question "did the music just stop?") throughout the dungeon and can immerse the player with ease. Many other areas just... lack this style of application.

Uematsu is not going to be around forever to do music, and the man probably doesn't want to be locked down to the FF series only (hence his current band, Earthbound Papas). As someone who has some musical experience, I fanboy hard at Uematsu. I went to Oni Con just to see him perform and meet him in person, which is a big thing for me because I hate crowds with a passion. Borderline going to strangle someone without question whenever I'm in a crowded area by illogical d-bags that don't realize they're fatter than the doorspace, yet feel the need to stop right in the entrance while a crowd of people are still trying to get in.

So yes, I want them both.
^This. I loved Uematsu's 1.0 soundtrack but I also love what Soken has done in ARR as well - my only wish is some of my favourite 1.0 tracks that are currently MIA (Navigator's Glory, Born of the Boughs, The Forest's Pulse, Piece of Mind, Widdershins, The Seventh Gate, Conflagration, Tears for Mor Dhona, Holy Consult to name but a few) will return in one form or another. So yeah, I love both soundtracks equally.

^This is beautifully worded and sums up mostly how I feel about Soken and Uematsu's contribution to XIV and XIV:ARR.
