I used to do that, until I got an all french party. I couldn't understand them and it went kinda bad, and I felt like it was my fault for picking a language I didn't understand.

Auto-Translation helps a lot, if you are not fluent enough in a certain language. Most Runs i join, regardless of the language, people tend to be silent beside "hello" and "thanks for the run".
1. Make Friends on your server.
2. Queue with them.
3. ???
4. Profit!

I am native German speaker, but when I (with absolutely no previous MMORPG experience) queued for a dungeon in FF14 for the first time, I was seriously asking myself whether it was actual German I was reading :-P
Bottom line: You actually do not have to be THAT good in standard German/French/Japanese to get along, but you have to know the slang. Everything else written is basically beginner and lower intermediate level.

I have done that in the past, have all languages checked to get a faster queue, but I had some horror stories so I don't bother with it unless I'm REALLY desperate. That being said, I don't tend to have very long wait-times as a DPS. Even if it's longer, I have other things to do (like crafting, etc). Unless it's CT. Then that's just ungodly long and I don't even bother.
