It's pretty simple. Don't list content as solo friendly if not all of it is solo friendly.They might be labeled as solo maps, but SE did say it's recommended that you bring a couple people if for nothing else than safety. It's not like you're being forced to solo the map.
It's pretty simple:
1) Go solo and risk getting a crappy Boss
2) Grab a friend and down it with no problem
I highly doubt you have absolutely 0 friends that you could ask to help. Hell...you could just grab a random person and not have to worry about losing anything. The Alexandrite goes to you automatically.
Why does this mislabeling and lack of logic remind me of how SE lableled /check mobs in FFXI?
Yes, therefore many perople have mentioned that, strictly ARR is not a traditional MMO or not a MMO ^^;
Few notes:
Many have already noted, the maps ARE soloable. Perhaps YOU can't solo it, but it is possible to do so.
Second, what Yoshi says isn't anywhere near the same as what actually happens.
Current Tome Requirements for Zodiac Weapons:Until now there have been mainly two means of progression: the first being defeating powerful enemies in end-game content to obtain high-item-level equipment, and the second being collecting Allagan tomestones to purchase gear. The Zodiac Weapons do not have the restrictions of these two methods, but are designed to take a long time to complete.
225+900+13500+1500= 16125
Additionally: Post limits are, flat-out, completely idiotic. 1k char limit's stupid to begin with but 20 posts a day? Seriously? What the hell SE?
Agree with you, but i was not the one have problem to solo it ^^;
I just doubt to the idea that the fight requires a group as it is a mmo, bcoz:
1. the maps are soloable as many have already noted
2. the design should let players solo it as the idea brought to us by YoishiP
waa waa i died in a video game
Make friend do with group.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
I died on that same map yesterday. Brought down the ogre by weaving in and out of the ogres AoEs ( which my chocobo had no concept of dodging) but died to the puks, got ressed and burned down most of them but when i thot id finished it with 10 secs to go at 3 secs i saw 3 of them on top of a hill we were fighting on, if i was to do it again i wouldve playrd safe and took ogres auto atks while nuking first group of puks instead of pushing the 2nd or 3rd spawn just to get ogre down. The maps to offer a challenge buts its a welcome challenge, at 800 myth and 1 per day tho im bringing a healer next time.
People keep suggesting to call on help to do the maps if you are having trouble. I have called on my FC and they gladly helped, however wouldn't people start finding it annoying if you call them to help with every single map? So I solo some and call for help on some. Most people wouldn't keep calling for someone because you just don't want to keep troubling them.

I think it'd be more fun if these maps acted like the others & gave some rewards with a chance for super rare stuff.
Honestly, from the day I saw you can 1. Get 1 per day. 2. Lose it if you die. 3. You can pay myth for another map. I automatically said I would never solo any of them. Even if they were marked as solo maps.
I want my daily as alexandrite, as I'm not farming more maps (unless gradually built up myth makes me have enough). I'm not in a rush to make Novus, but good luck to those who are.
