This is why WoW has separate instance servers, so there can be hundreds of groups running dungeons and raids, all at the same time, all in their own instances.
Yeah, this seems like the obvious way to go. If they end up making groups wait in line, we're going to see a LOT of unhappy campers. (no pun intended)
