community asks for jumping puzzles. SE gives jumping puzzles. community rants. pretty consistent post patch activity.
SE has had jumping puzzles since the mid 90s. See Tomb Raider for the PS1 (published by Eidos which is now SE).
Server: Sargatanas || Main Job: Scholar || Chocobo: Bonchon
Assasin's Creed 4 also had synchronization points which were exactly the same as vistas. Game developers "steal" ideas from each other all the time, I don't see what's the big deal.
The originality died with 1.0.
Playerbase wanted fan service.
Playerbase got fan service.
Have fun XP
If I remember correctly, Brutal Legend had "vistas". OMG GW2 COPEEEEED BROOOTAL LEGENDZ!!
Seriously though. Stuff like this has been in games since the dawn of like, forever. We have them because it is something else to do, and something that many people find fun. Nothing wrong with adding new things to do. I'd be more annoyed if they didn't add new features. But no-one forces you to do them in any case.
If they are in the mood to be taking ideas from GW2, please oh please oh please, let them adopt the storage system for crafting materials.
If they are going to borrow from other games... how about taking from EQ 1 LDON and have dynamic instances?
(Not that I have a problem with Vistas, it seems nice)
Playerbase: We want more content that will draw us out into the world!
SE: Okay how about sightseeing?
Playerbase: Booo! you are just copying other games.
[/sarcasm]
Seriously, who cares if it's like something in another game. If it's fun, just go with it.
I actually think it will be coolNothing wrong with taking ideas from other games if they work well and add some new flavor.
