This is a nice addition indeed (i wanted it).
Only SE could manage to copy something from another game and take out everything that made that enjoyable.
They also took GW2's DE idea too. [Or Rift...I only played GW2]
and DE's were extremely fun and original to me. I played GW2 up to to 40 because of it.
Like I said on the other topic. SS and puzzle jumps were fun in GW2. It doesn't work well
here. It's something that should of been added at day one. We've seen all the stuff already in the tiny zones we have.
Still I always welcome Fluff content but this could of be done way better.
It was never SE's intention to make ARR original or innovative. The purpose was to turn a dead game around and make a profit for the company. They achieved this by using concepts that work and are proven successful in other games, and by feeding off of peoples' FF nostalgia by using old references.
News flash, OP. The Gold Saucer that you're looking forward to is used in another game, also. Thought I'd let you know first.

I am sorry, but unless the Sightseeing Log includes a full blown Panoramic Fly-Away Cut Scene whenever you discover one of these Vista's, then it is not the same thing as GW2's Vista Points.
Er, more accurately it would be like saying someone used the word "Spear" and gasping that the Cavemen had weapons we recognize today as "Spears" too and thus anyone using the word "Spear" is thus unoriginal.
By this logical fallacy, nothing in this entire world could be considered original, as it has all been done before at least once, by someone. The exception being when some mad genius invents something completely random and new that no one in all of recorded and unrecorded history has ever thought of before. Which doesn't happen nearly as often as most people like to think.
yeah, another Final Fantasy Game. Square-Enix gets free license to infringe on any trademarks they themselves own you do realize that don't you? It should be obvious this is the case seeing as how Crystal Tower is present in this game, and CT is originally from Final Fantasy III. And when it's put that way, we could end up seeing content in this game taken straight out of Chrono-Trigger/Cross or similar series. Now that would be a laugh.
Wonder what Eorzea would do if Lavos made it's way there... That's one Eldritch Abomination I would just rather not have to deal with all things considered. Given that you basically needed to have New Game+ Save Data in Chrono-Trigger to stand even remotely a little bit of a chance against him, I honestly don't think any of our characters would be capable of standing up to Lavos. And if he were in FFXI, he would make the original Pandemonium Warden fight (you know, the 18 hour fight that didn't get anyone anywhere?) look like child's play.
The only thing Lavos was really good at being, was a Reality Warping Planet Eater. He really served no other purpose in any of the games he has been in than that. Even Cthulu serves more purpose.

Sorry if the joke kind of flew over your head. The last bit was added as sarcasm, since the OP didn't want "rehashed" content. But I'm glad the first part isn't under dispute, so no worries. If they decided to blasphemize on Chrono Trigger's reputation (even more so than Chrono Cross's story and cast), then this game would be shoved in a very, very dark corner for me. That's a personal opinion, by the way. /disclaimeryeah, another Final Fantasy Game. Square-Enix gets free license to infringe on any trademarks they themselves own you do realize that don't you? meh, I could go either way. Not that I would be willing to fight Lavos again. That took an intense amount of patience from me the first time, and I really wouldn't be looking forward to seeing the MMO incarnation of that thing. But I would be interested in the Time Travel aspects of the series being introduced. I mean how cool would it actually be to get to see Ancient Allag in person? Or meet the Tonberries before they became the Tonberries? There are so many things that could be done with a Time Travel component to this game. And its not like it hasn't been done in a Final Fantasy game before (cough::CrystalWarEra::cough).Sorry if the joke kind of flew over your head. Not to mention, introducing Time Travel would mean allowing those of us who aren't actually Legacy Players to actually get to see the Legacy Storyline first hand instead of having to watch it through second hand youtube videos and stuff like that.

New, innovative, or different is not synonymous with good.
