Hm marking is useful to coordinate dps, but most of them should have the /assist macro which targets a targets target by the time tanks get around to marking.

You could just hit T, since that is defaulted to targeting target's target.
But marking means dps don't have to wait in order to be sure which target they should focus down first.
Lesson: Some people are just impatient bags of dicks whom take this game way too seriously and are too arrogant to take into consideration that someone in the party may be new, or even have done the same duty but with a totally different strategy/approach than what they would like to do.
Its' not your fault. They are blaming you for their own lack of foresight and consideration.
Does this font make me look fat?
As a dragoon, I dot targets.
But...
I do so after my first heavy thrust (+15% damages), then use ID/Dis/CT on the target, Phlebotomize... Here, 5 skills used on one target. Then I use ID on the same one, and switch the other for Dis/CT/Phlebotomize. So now I have two targets with all the dots I can apply, and have to pick one to DPS... That's what the mark is for. Markings is also used to know if I should reapply dots on that target when it's about to wear off or if we're going to kill it very soon, and thus simply combo because Phle or ID/Dis/CT won't be as efficient as TT/VT/FT.
But I guess bad tank is bad.
Bad tank is bad because of no mark, huh?
I don't mark anything because no one can pull off me. You can focus whatever you want after you DoT everything, none of the enemies in any 4man dungeon do damage to me unless I literally pull everything. Healers that don't DPS quickly learn that they should, because they will get bored with the damage I'm not taking.
In my eyes, Tanks that mark require them so that they don't lose threat either because they're new or their gear isn't good or both. As far as new DPS go, whenever I get matched with one I just tell them "Kill everything". They never feel pressured to attack "the right target" because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.
Ah, of course. "It never happened to me, so it's fine, tactic is for the weak"Bad tank is bad because of no mark, huh?
