Titan's Heart is in front of Titan himself. Using Jump on it can get you hit by Rock Buster at inopportune times.I have never once had an issue with Jump "placing you in front of the mob". Jump moves are all relative to your position. If you use Jump at the flank, your character model and hit box will remain at the flank. It doesn't magically go to the front.
As far as getting hit by mechanics during any of the Jumps, all I can say is that it is dependent on the player's positioning and knowledge of the fight.
XI: Zeroblade, Titan Server
Jump should close gaps.
Either I'm so close when I use it so, it doesn't matter.
Or I'm far away and want to stay close to the target once complete.
This would actually be useful in pvp.
Impulse Rush for PVE
So much yes please. agreed on all points. hella long cooldown.
would be so useful for those mechanics where everything goes to shit for a few seconds and your not getting a positional, turning your spear into a toothpick.
It does work that like 100%I want to agree with you guys on the jump being based off the position, but I've had this happen to me many times in the past. Even static members would be surprised "how did you take so much damage?" I used jump and he did mountain buster. I've sold too many ex-primals to know this can and will happen.
So, yes syrus if it worked that way 100% of the time I would agree completely with you. This is not the case and I've had my friend who is also drg have this happen to him too many times. Maybe it is a glitch that occurs depending on the mob's size targeting cursor.
I have sold many Primals Ex and etc etc content, and I have not once had that happen to me. When you use a Jump, your character is clearly shown relative to your position upon landing. So if you're getting hit because of suspicious glitches, can't say much for you there :P
And I was ignoring the animation lock/GDC comment because I agree with that XD
If you are behind the heart, or to the flank, you will be positioned there during/post Jump. The heart isn't positioned so far away from Titan to put you in danger of cleave.
Really because ... bad news it does. Perhaps it doesn't always happen or maybe people just don't use jump then but I've drg enough to see it happen. Crap I sold enough to buy a 46mil medium house -. -;
Anyways moving on from this debate because I don't care if you don't believe me on that fact. IMO jump 1 should = spineshatter in terms of animation and movement.

IMO DRG's job skills need some reworking to improve usability.
Jump:
Either) Remove its animation lock while keeping its positional effects.
Or) Keep the animation lock but change its positional effect to that of Spineshatter dive.
Dragonfire Dive:
Either) Keep the 3min cd, remove AOE effect, increase potency
Or) Reduce cd, remove AOE effect, reduce potency (my preference)
Power Surge:
Let me first state this: ONE ENTIRE SKILL TO BOOST DMG BY ONLY 50%?!
Anyway, assuming the devs have reasons (APART FROM BEING LAZY)
Its weird cd doesn't sync up with Jump nor SSD.
Either) Increase cd of Jump to 45sec, sync PS cd to 45sec and reduce dmg boost (~40%)
Or) Reduce SSD cd to 80sec, sync PS cd to 80sec, reduce SSD potency (~150) and increase dmg boost (~70%)
OR REMAKE IT.
Elusive Jump:
3min cd means most DRGs would save it for the most critical moment instead of using it creatively.
Reduce its cd to <2min.
It does. Even a pixel too far is enough to make you in range of his mountain or (more often) rock buster.
In HM, he doesn't. In EX, he does, right before the circle bombs.
I've gotten hit with ground aoes that overlapped the target when I was mid jump starting outside of the ground aoe. Either let us move with Regular jump or don't move us into danger for a split second.
