    IMO DRG's job skills need some reworking to improve usability.

    Jump:

    Either) Remove its animation lock while keeping its positional effects.
    Or) Keep the animation lock but change its positional effect to that of Spineshatter dive.

    Dragonfire Dive:

    Either) Keep the 3min cd, remove AOE effect, increase potency
    Or) Reduce cd, remove AOE effect, reduce potency (my preference)

    Power Surge:

    Let me first state this: ONE ENTIRE SKILL TO BOOST DMG BY ONLY 50%?!
    Anyway, assuming the devs have reasons (APART FROM BEING LAZY)
    Its weird cd doesn't sync up with Jump nor SSD.

    Either) Increase cd of Jump to 45sec, sync PS cd to 45sec and reduce dmg boost (~40%)
    Or) Reduce SSD cd to 80sec, sync PS cd to 80sec, reduce SSD potency (~150) and increase dmg boost (~70%)

    OR REMAKE IT.

    Elusive Jump:

    3min cd means most DRGs would save it for the most critical moment instead of using it creatively.

    Reduce its cd to <2min.

    I've gotten hit with ground aoes that overlapped the target when I was mid jump starting outside of the ground aoe. Either let us move with Regular jump or don't move us into danger for a split second.

    Of course we can keep up. No where did I say we can't, wrong thread bro. Quality of life is for fixing stupid crap that doesn't function well, or should be tweaked to serve it's actual purpose more.

    Agree with everything. I hate Jump, so much. I strive to play my job well and I'm crushed when people go," LOLDRG!" when I get hit by stuff due to friggin' jumps.. In contrast, I sure don't say," LOL<job>," when I've been outperforming them for the past half hour, and usually still outperform them when I die....

    I hate the jump mechanics so much I seriously consider switching to MNK so I don't have anything in my rotation that directly contributes to me getting killed.

    Of course, some peoples' reply to this would be," LOL learn the fight, dumbass." Well, I study each and every fight before entering it, but it still takes a while to get the rhythm down. Having three position-altering abilities in the middle of your rotation that open up a really good chance for you to get hit while ALL other jobs proceed as normal really sucks. I'm relieved when I play BLM, coz at least I can simply run and stop casting my abilities, isn't that messed up? I'm jealous of BLM's mobility...

    Perhaps the best solution is to finally just give us immunity when doing jumps. You don't see anybody crying about BLM's Manawall and Manaward, do ya? I'd happily take a decrease in potency for jumps to give at least some bit of immunity.

    Maybe even just provide immunity for Jump and Spineshatter Dive, and just take away Dragonfire Dive altogether. AOE jump every however many seconds? Really, who cares? I'd give up an ability just to make the other two useful.

    People should realize that, as far as I know, DRG is the only job that consistently puts itself in harm's way (besides WAR, and who cares, it's a tank), no wonder they sometimes get hit by stuff.

    How many Dragoons does it take to perform a Jump correctly? The world... May never know :P

    I've had a few derp moments with Jump timing, but seriously, it's not as bad as it used to be. Learning a fight for the first time, there is bound to be a derp or two.. But you eventually learn and adjust.. Waiting 1 second for an AoE to clear does not kill your DPS.

    Elusive jump cds the thing I most want changed. Creative uses of it can greatly increase uptime but not when it's got a 3minute cd. I mean, it does no damage and I rather they remove the enmity reducing, heavy and bind removing aspects and make the cd so we can actually use it in fights more.

    Y'know...other than the last jump move we get, I don't think I've EVER used any of the jump moves. For that matter, I don't think I've used most of my moves before. Why do we have so many useless skills?!

    Sorry, but I disagree heavily with the invincibility frames for DRG, the amount you can absue that would be absurd. i.e. Oh, x boss is about to do x ability for unavoidable damage? JUMP

    I mean, logically it makes sense, in every other FF game jump takes like two turns to do and you don't get hit for the turn your jump, but in an mmo? I don't think it'd work well.

    Huh? Utilizing the Jumps and other abilities is key to your role as DPS. Without out them you are doing half the damage you otherwise could be.

    I'm pretty sure that was sarcastic.

    As for the positional thing: I've ALWAYS hated how Jump works even apart from pre and post 2.1 animation lock. The fact that you're vulnerable at multiple points during it's duration is insane. I first encountered this on the second boss in Sunken Temple (baby Titan) and every time I've complained about it people chalk it up to whining. Y'know, like everything else about how dragoon works.
    Use it at your advantage? Like, to get out of an AOE without moving?
