Years ago when I played FF11, I really enjoyed the way you had to learn your job and abilities in experience parties. Truth be told, waiting on a party invite or making your own could be such a time sink, but once it was all together and the exp starting chaining, it couldn't have been more fun. When Yoshi talked about how 2.0 really opened up once you reach max level, I felt a little disappointed. I looked forward to actually having more endgame content, but I enjoyed the raptor parties and gathering people together back in 1.0 to level up. Fate grind parties got old quick and don't require the attention nor the synergy compared to Square's older leveling system. Players want quicker gratification these days. And while that's what they're getting, it has its prices and contributes to a good portion of rage found in parties now. People aren't completely sure how to play their new 50 job and others get angry. The job quests and instances do help players acquire some understanding of how to use their class, but they are just too few and quick to teach a player all they could have learned using a more involving and cooperative leveling system.

I ran across a Pld in full i90 except for AF boots who tried to SR bray and failed horribly. Turns out he had only been playing for 2 weeks. That's your problem.

Because not everyone plays for the sole reason to be #1 and have an obsession over max number dps rotations.
This is why I prefer the old format for grouping which consisted on just getting the bodies to do the content and having a blast.
As for people complaining about bads, take into consideration that they are the ones funding your current habits as well.

This is the attitude that causes this stupidity.
It's not about being #1
It is about understanding the game and being competent at your job.
If a healer played like this, you would be dead.

Sarcasm aside, there's a hefty difference between "obsession with max number dps rotations" and "trying". When you go into a party and screw around, refuse to take advice and generally drag everyone else down you're essentially sacrificing everyone else's fun for your own. Which is fine, just do everyone a favor and stay out of parties.

i proceeded to drop into cleric stance (i was on my sch) and heal/max dps the whole run. some people are just terrible

Roulette isn't there for you to judge people's numbers. It's there to help others finish a dungeon for story, quest, or hunt purposes.

If you want serious dungeon groups then you need to start finding them elsewhere like in other FFXIV forums or linkshells.

As some have said, this game is highly successful because it covers all bases and isn't there to solely for end-game and "technical players."
An mmorpg doesn't survive solely on number-crunching-gear farming "elites."

Please bring that attitude of "just play to have fun, don't care what other people say" to a single player RPG please. FFXIV: ARR is multiplayer game

Yeah I don't get it.

I don't have any right to dictate how someone else plays. Players paid their subscription and they put the time and effort to reach level 50 and unlock those dungeons.

Those that really want to dictate who plays with them start making those super secluded LS, FC, and put up those "max ilvl requirement. Wipe = kick, lag = kick, die to this or that = kick, I don't like you = kick, " PF groups and have your definition of "fun". No one is stopping you there.
