Find/make friends that you can approach content with together and you will not have this problem.

Just because the Duty finder is there, does not mean you have to use it..... The Duty Finder is an aid for people that do not have a large circle of friends, a large FC, a static group, or maybe you just have 2 buddies and would rather pick up a random than spamming Mor Dhona for the 4th member to launch as a pre made...

The point is this. You really do not know the mindset of the people you will be playing with in a duty finder party. No member in the DF group has any deep rooted responsibility to the party itself, and more importantly, since the DF is cross server, there really is no consequences for selfish play, since you will probably never see these players ever again. You should approach the DF as if you were playing solo.... the reason why you queue for DF is because you do not have a group of friends to do it with, or not a complete group.

Instead of acting to punish those that chose to give up on the group that is inevitably going to fail..... i encourage you to FIND & MAKE FRIENDS!!

You essentially just explained, in slightly different words, why you also believe DF is broken.

Not a fault of the DF but fault of the community.

I used to play on Mandragora, a JP server, every week I would do my ex primals on DF with out too much problem. I have found it impossible to do that now that I am on Balmung: rage quits, people leaving after 1 wipe, extremely undergeared characters, zero knowledge of the fight and refuse to listen.

    1. the content you are talking about was not originally in DF because the coordination required was way above what was to be expected from a bunch of random people thrown into a fight together. The echo currently given was add, at least partially, to overcome party composition and coordination problems (No bard in Turn 1, etc).

    2. DF does not exist to get you your dream team, super carry party together. It exist to get 8 people without 7 friends online together into an instance as fast as possible. To use your example, you don't expect a Phillips head screw driver to help thread your plumbing back together. You need a plumbing wrench for that, which would be PF.

Are you guys actually reading my suggestions or just knee-jerk reacting to the idea that something might not be perfect about the game?

    Didn't agree one bit.

It was already explained to you earlier that DF is commonly used for practice runs, not serious attempts. The tool is not broken, you're using it for the wrong purpose. You're essentially making a thread about how a hammer should be used to apply paint.

Ain't gonna happen. Use party finder.

Please show me the post where SE stated that DF was to be used for practice runs only.

I did not say nor imply that it had anything to do with SE. SE implemented Allagan Rot in Turn 2, how many new players do you think will even see it? MMOs are a largely community-driven entity, and DF's use is dictated by the community that uses it... the very community that you're depending on. That community wants to practice in DF and make serious attempts in PF.

PF is the tool for wins. Use the correct tool.

That's mostly a mindset brought over from WoW's LFG tool. Japanese servers tend to have the opposite, with PF being practice and DF being for kills on anything that's in DF.

It's still entirely a community-driven thing. PF isn't the 'correct' tool for kills, it's just the most commonly used one on NA servers.
