I'm not sure if I missed it or I'm misunderstanding, but is alexandrite needed for novus? If so, how do we obtain it prior to 2.3's monster hunts?

Well, you better.Q40: Suzuki, are there any plans to implement any male-specific vanity gear?
A40: Originally, we were planning for the spring wear to be female-specific and the sailor wear to be male-specific. However, we came to a conclusion that the sailor wear looks awesome on females too so we implemented it for the females as well. Don’t worry, we do have plans to implement male-specific vanity gear in the future!
I mean, no, I’m not sorry. Male-specific gear that comes to mind, hm… racial clothes that everybody starts with, under-things, and uh… the Valentione-outfit - even that is just a recolor of the CUL AF (after the fact that parts of the questline required participation of male-female couples exclusively). I’m not even sure if there is more, but if there is, it’s not many. Whereas girls got the vanity spring dress but oh, hey, let’s make the counterpart sailor set available for all because it looks great on both guys and gals, yeah, great job. Meanwhile, guys can’t even equip the most basic skirt (really, the most basic example is the Miqo’te racial clothes); and I do have the feeling that when the marriage system comes ‘round, that too will be male-female exclusive as well. I’m not sorry; I get the cultural differences, but this game has been planned for international audience from the start (localisations much??), so I’m not interested in that. Adjust the mentality too, please, and give us options and equal treatment.
BreathlessTao is spot-on! I think it's wonderful that there is a lot of options for female characters in-game, but more and more one is starting to realise how there's not nearly as many options for male characters as there is for female. I'm not sure if you noticed, but people either gender like to show off style the way they want it...Well, you better.

Or, even, marry the gender they want (but that's a whole other rant that needs to be had...).

You want skirts on guys? I don't think we really need crossdressing....
everyone should wear skirts
The next LIVE Letters are both from E3 second week of June as advertised in this morning's Letter. Parts 1 and 2 of 2.3 Preview. Seeing as both the previous major updates took place more or less immediately following the second LIVE Letter it's safe to assume 2.3 is the week of June 16th. Likely June 18th if not the following Wednesday (25th).
You can get a less cumbersome menu by opening the Repair action through the Actions & Traits menu. It looks (almost) the same as the NPC mender, and you can just select categories and mash "repair all" (though you have to repeat it for each of the 7 repair classes). The problem is if you have any damaged item in a category that your crafter can't yet repair -- it'll refuse to repair everything, instead of only repairing what is possible.
You can do it very fast on a controller if you have all your crafting gear sets and the repair window on a crossbar.
