Why did we gain a 5th stat? And why is it Accuracy?

They never EVER decided to put accuracy on our healing gear(as far as I know) until it showed up in the soldiery stuff and now our Animus. I understand Accuracy is a big requirement in end-game but I don't intend to stop healing to throw a little spell at that funky turn 9 boss.

Well, this accuracy on iL100/110 gear IS made to help healers hit when they aren't healing in Coil/Ex primals. That's the only reason, really. But as it isn't a useful stat for healing, they made it a 5th as a bonus to help, rather than removing other stats which have plenty of use like piety or determination

I suppose that makes sense. I just wonder if we'll be able to further upgrade this stat with Novus.

healers are now expected to DPS in their downtime. Didn't the producers confirm this at some point?

It's simply to keep WHM DoTs etc relevant. This is a good trend since eventually Healers would fall well below acc cap on even soloable trash and lose effectiveness when they're on their own. Plus SCHs would get frustrated if Virus started missing. As for VIT, it's the secondary stat for all classes on weapons.

Because some healers aren't completely lazy and can throw out the odd Aero or Fluid Aura?
