This is why you have PF, so you can set up a party with exp peoples. Why the hell are you going into DF for lol?
You get anyone from everyone by jumping into DF. Make your own PT.
Even then, you may have trouble and some slip ups because not everyone's perfect! -____-
I use DF and brave the storm I guess. I don't care if we have a few wipes here and there.
I make sure I have time for stuff like that instead of crying about it.

This is a very self-centered arguement, and works from both end. Players who support watching videos could easily say - "That's what party finder's for - to make learning parties. When I go into duty finder, I expect to find people who know the fight."

In the end, this is no different than the whole cutscene skipping debate. People who feel they are entitled to 'play the game the way they want' will ultimately do what they want. But a little respect -from both ends- goes a far way. It's far more respectful to watch a video before diving into new content - even if just once - just so you're aware of what you will be seeing. Saying "Hey I watched the video but this is my first time" shows a lot more commitment than "This is my first time what do I need to know?" Showing that you didn't even -google- a text version of the fight, but want people to type out all the mechanics for you. If you can't even pay the basest of respects and watch a video once, do not expect respect and hand holding to be lavished on you - people will call you what you are: Lazy.

I watched a video in Lost city and I still got confused, I now know what to do from actual experience.

Honestly, we don't expect you to get things immediately just because you watched a video. But on the hard content, it gives you a frame of reference. An idea. A baseline. We can answer it from there, we can clarify, we can expand on 'why is stacking so important during fireballs' or 'oh, yeah, ranged stand here because they can target both the adjacent sections while tornados are active'.

Trying to teach you from scratch with words is even harder if there's no mental "oh, that's what that weird thing with the rocks was in the video" to link it to.

It's not respectful. This is why I'm saying a little respect goes a long way - on both ends. Those watching the CS's can try to fill out a party before going into DF, but I'm not going to expect them to build a full party. And even if they go in alone, 100% of the people should respect them and let them watch the cutscenes. But again, I perhaps have high expectations expecting -both ends- to put in -any- effort.

And you're right - people DO want to get things done fast. That's the kind of environment SquarEnix and the players have created. This flawed system of Myth currently is the best example - by making it so that the final boss doesn't drop myth, they made it so people could -easily- speed run. And no matter what they do, people -will- find a way to speed run.

I think the opo opo minion's a step in the right direction, though. Putting rewards behind the final boss is great.

As for watching the video, this is to serve the purpose of a supplement. It lets you know what will come, and it lets you know in advance what will be happening. It is to increase your awareness. I agree 100% that you will only learn by experiencing - as I am much the same. Until I have suffered something, I do not understand, but once I have - my reaction is better. Even still, my reaction in fights can only be improved by reading and watching something.

Yup, having high expectations is a bane and boon. SE created the Environment so those who can get around and saving minutes will do it. Flawed system -I completely agree.

The only point here I digress is 'can only be improved by' - if weight of the land is there, it's your own reaction (minus the lag/latency, mind you) and not the video or strat that will have dodge it for you.

You know it will come, for you have seen it in the vid, but what if bec of echo DPS will jump the phase, and it will appear in 2:13 sec instead of 2:19.. are you telling me you'll be done for? I am sure not.

DF is for a challenge - to expect the unexpected. If you want to be 100% sure at things - PF, or FC.

It is because the ones that made those videos beat it a certain way doesn't mean that's the only way to beat it.

One way Square-Enix can combat it is by testing it themselves and releasing themselves the methods that work and who it is designed for instead.

Even if you did you'll still be criticized , chastised , and any form of negativity that ever been developed on this world if you wiped once for not doing your job. The overall mmo's communities have gotten impatient and worst where you should automatically know everything the other player knows.
