I really wish there was a Duty Finder for playing with people who don't want to berserk rush every second of the game.

They could add a toggle for "Speed Runs" like they have for "Join party in progress" except it launches you into the dungeon with no cut scenes. That way you have to opt in to do speed runs. Not opt out once your in the dungeon.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
if they added that function they would have to give a HUGE bonus to tomes. the new people would always get stuck with new people and their dungeons would most likely fail. if you use duty finder.. you trade your in game experience for people who are progressed and geared and knowledgeable of the fights.. if you don't want this happening and just want to run it slow and easy.. you should prolly make a party finder cuz the vast majority are grinding.. I know it sounds harsh... but the person entering duty finder holding others up.. is just as rude as the person going in without them.
I havent done anything amazing for others even on my tank, for me if the majority wanna do it slow or something I dont mind. I do occasionally do dick things like kick someone in Praetorium for watching cut scenes when the rest of the party is like on Nero and they are back at the start. I am a middle man in my opinion, I dont mind doing things if everyone is cool with it but other things like last night where I had two guys talking about RL and slowing us up it was annoying, yes ok your gf might be pregnant cool you two can talk about that afterwards..I just wanna run this crap.
I hit my post limit yesterday, so I wasn't able to respond to any of you. Thank you for all your replies so far, it's nice to see some positive discussion about this, and it's really nice to read your own stories as well. I'd love to respond to you all individually, but I don't want to create a wall of text that no one will read. I'm looking forward to seeing any other positive discussion and reading your own stories.
So, you recognize that it's a "dick" thing to do, but you do it anyways? I understand Square Enix has said you are allowed to kick players who aren't moving at the party's pace, but this is only to prevent from being held back. A fresh level 50 character enjoying his game isn't going to hold back a bunch of i90+ "speed runners" for their precious 80 myth tomes.
I skipped my cutscenes fresh as a 50. And yes it is but at the same time it is a daily roulette..and many times I am not ready to sit and take forever on a dungeon I have ran way to many times. So, you recognize that it's a "dick" thing to do, but you do it anyways? I applaud you, OP. Everyone is new at some point. You turned around the WHM's self confidence. Instead of letting him/her be berated, you created an environment that allowed them to be successful. And hopefully, the WHM got some new gear as a nice extra bonus.
Nice job LeonBlade!
I wish more players would stand up to bricks in DF. If they did, the community as a whole would be better.
^_^ Seriously, thanks for sharing and keep it up!
Well, some of us try to enjoy the games we pay for. And you are either lying, or a fool, because a "fresh 50" doesn't have Roulette: Main Scenario unlocked their first run through, its only unlocked after clearing it the first time.
I run my daily roulette everyday as a paladin, not every good gear (just blue artifact and i55 sword and some random shield) but I do hold aggro, and I let new players, or rather any players, enjoy their cutscenes. If enough people skip it, I continue on, if not, I wait. Those instances are very easy, and missing 2-3 people during a boss fight doesn't make a big difference. I just tell them that we are here to help THEM, they aren't here to help US. It isn't a difficult concept, you just don't have to be a myth obsessed sociopath.
Then why do it? Why waste your time? The reward isn't even worth it. 100 myth 1 run 30mins plus. Hell I can get that in 20mins in brayflox not even speedrunning. When I do DR as healer I understand there will be new people, hell that's why I do it because the rewards isnt worth it. So if I see someone watching a CS I just stand there and wait.
