SE why dont u just go back to ffxi mechanics all at once your headed in that direction anyways. And when your done, "THEN" focus on single player. MMOs arent meant for single players thats why their called MMOs. Mass "MULTI" player online. single players can play your other FF games, theres 12 of them to choose from. FOCUS on MMO please.

I agree with this i don't know why the focus on solo then there noting to do for party. What about doing everything for party then help out the people who want to solo or do both just delay the dam patch 2month to release stuff for both.

The majority of people who will play XIV were supposed to be the same people who currently play XI. But since they cant play the way they want to. They stay on XI or just dont play anymore. They/WE want the better graphics AND game play.. But we CANT So players leave.

And most of us...won't be paying...when they turn on subscriptions. Paying for a solo mmo is like having sex to preserve virginity. I really don't if "solo" players enjoy the world. They shouldn't be catered to in an mmo. If they want to play a casual solo oriented mmo there are plenty of f2p. If they want the graphics to go along with it too, wait for XIII-2. Don't ruin a whole mmo just because you're an antisocial P.O.S. too afraid to talk to people.


From yoshi-p. Casual player plays 2 hours a day and will reach max rank in 3-4 months. If you're paying for the game at that time, thats a total waste of money. Casual/solo players don't play your game for 5 years they say "oh i'm waiting till Terra comes out then i'm hopping over." FFXI players had the mentality this was their mmo they were gonna play for 2-5 years. But they gave XI players nothing to like while also ruining the aspects of XI we did like. Leaving us stranded without a game to play. Why is it too much for this game to be party based, when EVERY OTHER EFFING MMO is based on soloing/casual play.

You solo players are effing retarded anyway. This game in its current state isn't solo friendly. Solo friendly games you can get to max rank in weeks. This game you won't get past level 30 solo unless you want it to take forever. So right now this game is just stuck between soloing/partying, and its awkward for both sides.

This may not be XI but guess what it's final fantasy not WoW or Rift or Aion this should not be base of solo and copy WoW. SE said they want final fantasy xiv to make a new game where players who play wow can get something new.

Why so bad about party play? and fighting mobs outside? people go on saying you fight the same mob over and over again who said that? i play from 10-75 in ffxi fighting new type of mobs every few level and people say ya but then you fight them again with diff color i guess people forgot that in real life you may see the same thing but diff color / type of look.

i just don't understand people even wow is not this casual at least in wow i play with 4 other players level up doing dungeon.

Oh I'm all for party play, I dislike soloing. There are people here though that want EVERYTHING in here to be like XI, and it's just not gong to happen (gear swaps, harsh death penalty, etc)

I dont remember anyone saying FFXIV was solo oriented....only that the Leve would be more "solo oriented".

The reduction in bonuses from Linking and the Addition of finish bonuses will still make leve-partying a viable option until they add a load of content. The finishing bonuses with leves are better when you do it hard and fast (mind the pun). So solo you can do say a R20 leve solo at 1 star in 20mins and you get 1500sp bonus at the end, but you try in a party that could do it at 4stars in 10mins and the bonus is much better and everyone in the party gets it (not actually sure about if everyone gets the same amount or if helping nets you just a little less than the "host" unless you link).
