FFXIV MMO?

Oh I'm all for party play, I dislike soloing. There are people here though that want EVERYTHING in here to be like XI, and it's just not gong to happen (gear swaps, harsh death penalty, etc)

I don't want a ffxi 2.0 oh god wasting 2years of my life to get 75? then years just to get kirin body? then years to get cop done? hell no it was rewarding and yes i like something close to that hardness but i know it never going to happen am ok with that. just for the love of god don't make this 100% solo even the mission are solo ; ; when ffxi just to get few of the city mission you needed ppl one of them you needed about a full party.

i want more party play and more going outside in the area to do stuff not just dungeon and area that are not really part of the land in the game more open stuff like garrsion and stuff .

I dont remember anyone saying FFXIV was solo oriented....only that the Leve would be more "solo oriented".

The reduction in bonuses from Linking and the Addition of finish bonuses will still make leve-partying a viable option until they add a load of content. The finishing bonuses with leves are better when you do it hard and fast (mind the pun). So solo you can do say a R20 leve solo at 1 star in 20mins and you get 1500sp bonus at the end, but you try in a party that could do it at 4stars in 10mins and the bonus is much better and everyone in the party gets it (not actually sure about if everyone gets the same amount or if helping nets you just a little less than the "host" unless you link).

Also, if FFXI was this awesome it wouldn't be dying even with brand new content being added regularly. And now that PS2 support was pretty much removed from FFXI (all last collector editions already were PC/360 only) it would be much easier go to FFXI forum and cry about HD graphics than coming here ask to discard this game and adopt FFXI mechanics.

Continue this way on solo casual support this game never gonna be much bigger then it is watch and see in one year from now.

Making a FFXI-2 of it will make it bigger but i think it never gonna happen.

Everything here in FFXIV going 10 times faster then FFXI and the Game dies also in 10 times faster rate then FFXI.

If the rate of changes in this game to make it better is so slow almost 1 year they fixed how many people is back ?

Countinue fix in this rate and it will be ready when next FF is ready for online and i hope it will be something they make for team work again FFXI-2 yes please

I doubt they get the playerbase much bigger then this supporting casual and solo play we can see where the game is in 1 year i think FFXI still gonna have alot more players then FFXIV if support going solo casual way.

And I agree, completely, I just want to make my own class doing it. This game SHOULD be about the PVE content and have a strong party focus, I applaud them for their Solo aspirations, but I hope that does not become the game's FOCUS.

What bothers me is, IF this game is indeed going to be party focused, like it should, are people going to continue to whine, and reduce my ability to build my class from combining abilities. I still say every class should be able to equip EVERY Ability class defining or Not. It saddens me that this is slowly being eroded away.

I just hope in the end, we can all get what we want a party focused PVE game, that lets us make our own damn classes.

I really like that I can do solo stuff that is worthwhile me doing, however, when I joined the game it was because I wanted to party up with new friends in the world and XP together, do quests and missions etc.

Solo content is great, Yoshi P is right when he talks about casual players like myself - when I get home from work I can only do an hour or so some days and I want to be able to do something worth my while. At the same time, it's not right to make the entire game work around casual players.

If I want to do specific story missions and quests, I think parties should be a requirement not a choice. Partying should always be the best option, and solo sometimes a possibility. What I don't want to happen is what happened with XI, not being able to find a party for 45 mins, then take 15mins to get to a camp, then I only have 30mins left before /logout. Also /sh in a zone for help with a mission for hours was pretty frustrating too.... hmmm...

There is a fine balance here and as long as more party based content comes out in 1.19/1.20 then I think SE are going to strike the right balance. Hopefully.

I think most of you miss the point in solo play in FFXIV. you don't want to rely on parties every time you want to do something. In FFXI I played as mainly MNK and sometimes PUP both 75 (rather solo friendly jobs IMHO). I used to be able to solo exp on things like imps as MNK and I could solo quests and I could just mess about if I wanted to, then take on some higher level NM's as PUP if my MNK couldn't handle it. All the while I could flag up and if I get an invite during these solo times, I could just teleport back and head to parties or events. It's kind of a lone wolf thing more than anything really. You don't want to feel totally useless on your own, but at the same time you can go party up with other people whenever you want

i agree with the op, this will be the game breaker out of all the mess ups they are doing that i won't hang around for. party play in large amounts or cya later. i play mmo's for party play, i want party play, i don't want nothing to do with solo'ing everything in game.

yes i loved my rdm, i loved going around and killing nm's solo and making gils solo, but in reality it cause most the time you have too. if was just as easy for party play then even simple stuff like this i would of done in parties. a mmo that can create a way to keep party play 24/7 and make it instantly easy to do = winner of all time mmo.
