If you really hate the job system and how they limit each job to 1 class and, in effect, one weapon...
You can always try another game
Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming out
Tons of choices for weapons there
    Red Lightsaber...
    Blue Lightsaber...
    Green Lightsaber...
    Pulsing Blue Lightsaber...
    The choices are endless

No you do not. I really Hate this argument too.

Having "Everything" doesn't mean using "Everything" When you have limitations in place like which group of skills gives you access to what Job traits, which gives you access to which jobs. People will design their character to play the Job they want. They might not even be the same. Its the same system as FFXI's Blue Mage. I don't know ANYONE that ever used the same exact loadouts as anyone else. Blue Mage had so many different choices for Job Traits that people mixed and matched loads of shit together, sometimes that didn't even make sense, But worked for them and the role they were trying to perform.

1 Job Could do Healing, Tanking, Buffing, Debuffing, Subverting, Nuking, Damage Dealing.

All based on the skills it equipped and everyone played it differently. So don't say "Well you would only have one Job and everyone would do the same thing" because they wont. Blue Mage is Proof of that.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

I haven't heard anyone ask for dropping Jobs on top of these shit classes. I don't know anyone that isn't playing that are going to sub up because of this new system.

No players or could be players are getting what they want here. The new system is actually going against appeasing the masses by catering to the 30k or less of us that have stayed when they should be taking away our characters and starting over from scratch.
The Autoattack is yes tiered towards what people want more. However, with above poster they are putting a bandaid ontop of the crap classes and asking if we wanna sub yet.. Its not gonna fly. People want what makes them happy. People can play 50 some levels raid and be happy behind a Dark Knight or a Monk. They aren't jumping for joy to be a Pugilist (professional boxer).

Rydin says hundreds of Dark Knighs with Great Axes is a good choice and we should throw money at Square Enix for utilizing it. Bravo.

First of all... You have to admit my post was funny...
Second of all... Every game has to find it's own balance between complete freedom and absolute restriction and this is just the vision Yoshi has for the jobs in FFXIV... You've voiced your displeasure ad nauseum...
You have to think a small number of people being extremely vocal does not equate to a large number of people who are displeased...
Furthermore, constantly berating every tidbit of information about the game BEFORE IT IS EVER IMPLEMENTED is not gonna change SE's mind.... They will be thinking that your issues are solely because you have yet to use the new system.
What will come out of your incessant complaining is SE will stop releasing information ahead of time as it seems completely futile
If you're not part of the solution... you know?

I need to write down the names of people bitching about systems they know nothing about just so i can ask them when they are finally added.... Do you feel stupid now? Have you learned your lesson now?

Nothing the new team has added so far was bad and hopefully that will not change..... Let the new systems roll in THEN bitch if they are bad cause as the new info posted lately can tell you the devs are not listening to babies cry about stuff they know nothing about. IMHO thats the best way to do things... these ff forums are the worst i have ever seen you people never learn to wait for stuff THEN bitch.

i remember lots of posts of people bitching about quest markers and aggro signs... and now that its added every one who bitched feels stupid because it was not a big deal.... and it certainly did not change the game to "easy mode" as all of you claimed it would. im expecting the same thing to happen here with the job system and jump once the ARE added.

The Job system, as proposed, feels like a big gamble. It could turn out to be really cool, or it might be epic fail. At the very least it should make organizing parties easier. I kind of like the way it is now though, as it reminds me more of FFT where you could mix & match abilities of all the job classes.

What we're getting basically amounts to official builds of each class from SE, or at least that's how it looks. We won't know until the update for sure, but I'm remaining skeptical.
That's how I read it. You use the job system to activate a standard build. While you can configure a thaumaturge or a marauder classes as tanks, the paladin job will be a tank with abilities that cannot be accessed through the regular cross-class skill list- so you get a bonus for using on of the standard builds without taking away the ability to create your own build.

Except it can only use swords, So even if you wanted to tank with a Polearm you couldn't.
