Healers losing popularity?

So the price of being replaced by bad tanks is a 5 minute high level dungeon roulette que, thanks a lot Square Enix. Yup, just had a 5 minute que on the roulette 3:00PM PST.

I wonder what kind of healer mounts there could be? A tonberry for a scholar lol. I still get instant ques on the most popular stuff, but it just isn't the same after so many new tanks

Just ask SE for a healer achievement mount. I'm sure that will solve all of these problems.

Take a look, and see that the instances that count for the tank mount are not the easy ones. Brayflox HM certainly does not count for the mount, nor any of the low (or high) level dungeons, of course. I don't think people (who were previously other jobs) join instances as tank for the mount.

As a healer myself, I found this healing role to be very frustrating. It's not that I can't heal. I leaned how to heal binding coil in a day (from 1 - 5). But, it's extreamely difficult in pugs group. Sometimes, people are new to the raid.. This also frustrates me because 98% of them come unprepared. Healers job is to maintain parties health and keep members alive, but if one guy screw up there is a chance another one will and so on. From what I know, many skilled players don't pug, they run with friends and not strangers. Sometimes they do actually, that's how they discover another new skilled "chosen one" (lol) and he/she join their guild.. Well.. There is more to this story I think.. But yeah, our time is limited.

All the pro omg endgame healers r running 2nd coil with static and bray hm speed runs for sol and myth.
They have no other reason to do any other dungeon / instance tbh.
For books? I hear ppl etc in LSs that just run with friends in premades because it's more pleasent and successful.
All the shabby whatever healers like myself are running the occasional DR when the healer bonus pops up and because we can join in progress easily
But imo they better not make a mount for healers ( tho i would like one kinda :S )
Cuz it'll just make ppl ruin healers by queing up as 1 then to say 1st time healing in titan EX.

As a WHM since August, my main problem is players. Since there has been a ton of new players, it's always an annoyance when I'm asked to dps as my WHM. It's an annoyance when some dps are impatient. It's an annoyance when players tell you up front what they will and will not do.

In Titan Ex, we were down to me, PLD, and MNK. I had 329MP after the stomps. All three of us were low HP. I used Benediction on the tank and Divine Seal + Cure on me, then lost the MNK. The tank jumped off, then Titan killed me. The MNK yelled about how bad of a healing choice I made, and continued to down-talk both us healers.

I'd like to continue to heal, but there's too many people giving us problems. I even got kicked from a Leviathan group after the first run because I kept Divine Seal up. I wasn't pulling hate. Mind you, I died not one time but the other WHM had constant deaths. They called me a newb, but it was the dead WHM who got the Achievement for beating Levi the first time.

I try to alternate jobs when doing these, but for Trials Roulette I always go healer. If I go any other job I end up in Titan HM with 2 healers who can't dodge anything and it's a waste of my time.

Sigh....it's getting to the point I don't even wanna do DF anymore for healing. And keep in mind, I'm not doing bad/etc I'm just tired of working so darn hard for so little.

First queue today: Low level Roulette (healer needed role). Got Tam-tara. Got a newbie tank. He wasn't able to hold hate for even 3 seconds...also he was eating pizza/afking on us...OH and I had more HP's than him. So basically I healed the dungeon and tanked the dungeon....evend dealt damage here and there. What do I get from it....more time wasted/more stress and the exact same reward another Healer would have gotten with a more skilled group....or from a simple Storymode Ifrit.

Second queue today: Primal Roulette (tank needed role). Got Titan HM. Party was 2x War 2x WHM 2x Brd 2xMNK. Okay. One monk falls off after second landslide. Nothing I can do about him, he's a goner. Lose the other healer pre heart to a landslide...so now I'm SOLO healing everyone else is fine. DD's attack second gaol instead of staying on heart in heart phase....no ballad on me. So I can't help dps (magic conserving for big heals coming up). Sliver of health left on Heart/he jumps=Wipe 1. Second attempt: Monk is afk....falls off platform because tank engaged before he came back. Down a DD nothing I can do about it. Get past Heart and everyone is alive (we had to raise a bard pre-heart). Okay then people panic on bombs and 4 of them die all at the same time. WHM/Off tank and 2 Monks. At this point only myself, the MT and a Bard are standing. but my swiftcast is down, and Mountain Buster is INC. So I conserve Mana (no ballad again btw), Top everyone off, and wait until I can Swiftcast+raise other WHM. I Do. He dies again 20 seconds later after getting up because he dodged bombs wrong again.....so yay. Have to repeat, Keep 3 people topped off who are alive (still no ballad). Swiftcast+raise again the other healer when I can. Other healer now up, Bard ballads (yay). Other healer raises someone. I however at this point get gaoled, and the main tank takes it upon himself to turn titan and start DDing the Gaol I'm in....well...he breaks me out....into a Mountain Buster. =Wipe 2. Now the maintank is like 'I'll try once more then I'm leaving' OT had been typing 'raise Healer....raise healer...raise healer....raise DD...in party chat all round. So I type 'You really don't need to tell me who to raise'. And he was like 'get off your high horse, you weren't doing it quickly'. And I replied 'yes, and there's a fing reason for it'. Bard makes sly comment 'we had healers' ....I was so fing pissed. But we're in 3rd battle. And I didn't wish to be a dick. So back we go. This time,between the echo buff and 3rd times the charm no one landslides off/explodes themsevles in a bomb to death (they still took stupid hits, but healable). But MT, well when titan is like 2-3% health left, he attempting to dodge a bomb, falls off back of tower. Monk LB's and we win as Mountain buster is once again, coming to my face.

Now did I do anything wrong? No. THEY DID. THEY SCREWED UP. But because I have a skill...a huge MP costing, long ass-cast timer btw they assume it's my job to fix their booboos and be a Raise Whore, ingoring all other duties and situational problems. On Titan, really only safe to raise with PoM or Swiftcast....and then only at certain times. I have learned the very very hard way NOT to raise someone right before stomps for example. Why? Because they always get up during stomps and unhealed/unbuffed die again....or get locked into weights=death. I try to time the raise so you raise when the gaol happens. It's the safest time. So yeah, if 3-4 people are dead, you'll have to wait. But you didn't die because of me....you died because of you. My first job is to keep the people who didn't die alive. We can keep truckin. Be patient. But DON'T boss me...I don't tell you which of your skills to use when, don't tell me when to use mine.

And for this, all this ball-busting I had to do so they even had a chance. I get belittled.

This isn't even factoring in the general pressures to speed run everything (which btw amounts to 'Hey WHM, you GET to carry the burden of being one of the top DPS, the healer and some off-tanking in this dungeon. Yay! for you') And yes, I do speed runs just fine (heck I even find them fun with friends) but I know full well, I'm carrying more than my 25% of the party burden to get that run done. And that is simply not fair and not always how I want to be used by random strangers on the internet.

It's basically gotten to the point that I ONLY queue for things when I have to/need myth. Other than that, I wait for FC members to need runs. That is one healer out of the mix that use to do their Dailies every day.

Also, we HAVE a healer mount. It's a Unicorn.

Oh. and the reason 'Healer' is the role in need a lot for low level dungeons? Mostly because CNJ is the only native healer pre level 30. So with the influx of new players, until they start hitting level 30 and unlocking SCH etc, there's going to be a healing shortage.
