Healers losing popularity?

To be honest, coming from someone who got all 3 roles, there are just some fights/dungeons I just don't want to heal (perfect example: Titan). This could be only me though...

Maybe the new tank mount rewards led to a sudden influx of tanks again, outnumbering healers right now.

Aside of that, I think many just don't like playing SCH - and if they don't like WHM either, there's no way to play healer lol - I'd say we need a third healer class from Ul'dah ( roots for Time Mage from THM! :> )

Kind of biased since you're a tank; obviously any party you're in has at least 1. If anything tanks are scarcest, judging by the role bonus being pretty much all for tanks on every type of roulette for the grand majority of the time.

I have a theory that the roulette simply has a priority list of tank >> healer >> DPS also, and is unable to use multiple roles for the bonus. IE: If tanks are low, it doesn't matter if healers are low also, only the tank is getting the bonus.

I just see the healer bonus for the low level random. I'll take it sometimes for something different, but it's kind of lame healing when you just have physic. But I don't need to heal with eos soloing it!

...but it's kind of lame dpsing with one aetherflow stack and no bane.

Back on topic though, for the other two randoms it's still been pretty much instant so maybe the gap is closing.

You know, when someone said about all the new PS4 players picking gladiator ever since the release is probably right. When I low level roulette on my scholar, I get Tam-Tara deepcroft SO MUCH I AM SO SICK OF IT, but when I low level roulette on my tank it is more commonly haukke manor, hmm I wonder why. The people that picked gladiator had no idea they were in for tanking, and you don't need a tank to progress past the first few dungeons. But when the gladiator can't get past Thousand Maws (I dunno that dungeon seems pretty hard without a tank, those first two bosses hit pretty hard and applies a strong poison debuff which can't be cured on my SCH, oh and everyone taking loads of damage on that last boss) that's when the tank decided to quit or pick a different class, and there is a shortage from haukke manor upwards.

And the post about the priority system is pretty intruiging, does this mean that there could be more tanks in the DF at the time but it still has the reward for tanks because the system still considers them to be lacking? I have seen the bonus reward for DPS sometimes namely main scenario, so I have no idea how that happened

Most low level dungeons i'll just use "follow" & cure 1 on tank ( if cure 2 is not available ).
After every mob i'll follow and when we reach 1 mob i'll just spam cure 1 cuz it's low emnity and the best/ only heal in most dungeons.
I just put cure 1 on ( R2 + X )
So i can heal with 1 hand and browse the forums/ watch stuff on youtube or text friends.
I literally turned into a healing bot lol.
That way i won't be bored to death ( something i can't raise ) and tank classes will be happy that i did my job.
Probably why a lot of ppl quit doing DF as a healer cuz of how boring it gets to be a personal healing bot for the party.

I'm working on white mage right now. I love how much faster the queues are, and I make a pretty good amount of money when healer is the job in need. I just don't run as healer for Expert roulette because I know that I'm not geared for it yet.

My PLD rides around on a Unicorn... eventually my SCH will ride around on a War Lion, by then I'm certainly going to be burned out on tanking. After all, only reason I leveled PLD from 37 to 50, was because end game was progressing too slow for my SCH. Now my PLD is i90, while my SCH is i68.

The healer and tanking jobs would be improved a bit if they weren't so one dimensional. SCH is fun enough at least when I send fairy into super mode and do some dps for about maybe ten seconds before shifting back to heal bot mode.

This is definitely a reason I have not been healing as much. Tanks coming in in their crap gear to Brayflox hard thinking their hot shi* and taking damage like their armor was made of paper. Then getting an attitude and placing blame.

I went into Brayflox a week ago as part of the storyline. The tank kept pulling loads of mobs, keeping me busy with the healing to the point where I was running low on MP.
One of the other party members kept sending rude emotes my way with no explanation. We wipe several times and I finally had enough, so I left.
Because of the tank and the behavior of the rude dps, I'm not sure if I wish to continue as a healer. This is the first time I have had a problem keeping everyone alive.
Before this, I have received commendations from other party members for a job well done.

I enjoy doing more dps in roulettes then either dps.
