Agree. But I'm using NQ beef stew because my GP is 309 and gathering is 365, so i just need to add another 21 GP and 5 gatherings and i can mine umbral rocks and fragant logs. What food gonna used is based on how much GP you already have. If you have more base GP then you can use cheaper foods.

There is currently no point to get 650 GP, 630 GP is enough. Unearth II (300GP)+Sharp Vision(50GP)+Solid Reason(300GP)= 650GP - 20 GP (regain from first 4 swings)= 630GP.

And here's how I did, the steps: Unearth II/Leaf turn II + Sharp Vision/field mastery --->4 swings---->Solid Reason/Ageless words ---->1 swing----> Deep Vigor/Brunt force (just use it since it doesn't cost any GP)---->last swing---->done!

GP meld cap is 624 and you still need another 6 GP to reach 630 GP, so you need food. The cheapest food is mutton stew which can be bought from NPCs in any cities. Mutton stew give you 19 GP. You just need to meld until 611 GP.

Not need to waste too much gils on melding GP, should focus on gatherings and perceptions.
