I have some fun facts:
Total max. gathering is 402.
[Full HQ Gear, max. gathering melding (+11 gathering on secundary tool, but minus some perception) and Tomato Pie Buff Food]
Total max. perception is 406.
[Full HQ Gear, max. perception melding (+20 perception on secundary tool and none gathering) and Landtrap Salad Buff Food]
Total max. GP is 654.
[Full HQ Gear, max GP melding (+4 GP on secundary tool) and Dzemael Grattin Buff Food]
Note: These are high theoretical values and cannot be obtained at the same time.
Question: Anyone knows the correct values for the food? I use the max values, but they can't achieved right now?
For example: Tomato Pie gives only 16 gathering if you have more then 533 gathering, but thats indeed unattainable.

Hey,
I'm about to hit 50 on the 3 gathering classes, and wondered if it was better to have the class specific gear, or having materia melded HQ generic gear?
I'm trying to work out whether having the extra 2 armoury slots is worth it if the HQ generic materia melded gear is on par/almost on par with class specific.
Basically, will my stats suffer too much if I go with the Raptorskin gear instead of the green class gear?
I Had been thinking that too. I got Perception 372 (15 less than cap because I only have +5 Perception on off hand) With this much Perception I get 4% HQ on unspoiled nodes. Does anyone knows if that +15 Per get us to at Least 5% HQ?Hi!
Theoretical maximum : Gathering 372 , Perception 387 , GP 624
(without food)
( I suppose that our Off Hand's caps are Gathering ?, Perception 20 and GP 4, but use only 4x5 Perception and 1x4 GP)
Is that right? Its only theoretical
Anyone knows the Offhand perception cap even its usless ?
Nice efforts. It all needs to be factored into the effective caps though.
In my experience, Gathering caps at 340 (hidden), basically meaning there is zero point to raising Gathering above 340 because it provides no further benefits. Try temporarily raising it with food and see.
GP, will unless you can hit 630 (to then reach 650 after 4 strikes) then you may as well settle at either 580, or 600GP for convenience.
Higher perceptions than 320 do help to raise the HQ chance on unspoiled nodes though, so feed all remaining material into that (if so desired).
I guess what I'm saying is this, it's nice to know the melding caps, but don't bust a nut trying to figure out the caps on Gathering and GP, because beyond a certain point raising them is effectively useless.
Great information in this thread though.
As far as I've been able to research, it's +1% HQ chance per +15 Perception above 320 on Unspoiled nodes. (ie. 335 is 2%, 350 is 3%, 365 is 4%, so 380 should get you 5%). I may be wrong, I've not directly experienced this, just from what I remember reading when researching this a while back.
My recent tests show that the first 1% appears at 320, the next appears at 350, then continues for every +10 perception afterwards. I've only gone as high as 371 so far with 4% so maybe 380 is 5%.As far as I've been able to research, it's +1% HQ chance per +15 Perception above 320 on Unspoiled nodes. The Materia Meld Caps didnt change right?
It's a lot easier and cheaper to get Materia IV now ;D
Keki
Perception cap is 20 for offhand for op to update
Not sure if this has already been mentioned but the Militia Bracelet can hold Gathering 4 as it's maximum, not just 3. Figured I'd post so you can update it for other's.
