Unfortunately there is no enrage cheese in new coil. No amount of echo will stop you from wiping your pug group in T7.Reminds me of the black and white approach some devs use to talk about in interviews a couple of gens ago instead of finding an appropriate balance.
A: I don't like gear being easy to obtain. B: Fine everything's hard.
A: I don't like gear being hard to obtain. B: You don't like it easy or hard? We don't get you /ignore.
Instead of just making a couple of solid tiers of progression with appropriate and balanced difficulty and time constraints to them.
You know how long it takes to get unweathered gear or did you just decide to completely forget about the weekly soldiery cap?
Alternatives are welcome but the time constraints to them aren't. I'd rather wait for the echo buff than get full soldiery.
Using that strat will not guarantee you a T7 clear. It just make it possibly easier, if your kiter knows how to stack properly.
Multi class is a selling point but even pre 2.2, it's not that easy to i90 gear all your 9 jobs. Given how coil goes, you still have to plan for a main class which you are to primarily gear for, while at a later stage, able to gear up a few of your other jobs which you play frequently.
People who can really excel at all jobs are rare anyways - heck it's not that easy to find people who can perform at end game level for 3-4 jobs. It's really a non issue. If you're that good that can play all 9 jobs at end game/T9 level and thus you feel the dire need to gear all of them to i110 level, you'd be probably in one of the top teams that have already cleared T9 by now. Which my current FC have a handful of such players with their main job at/over i100 avg level and secondary job also nearing i100 (i95-i100 range). Eventually they'd get quite a handful of them very geared before the next coil being released.
To be fair: By the time Echo is added, T7's mechanic will most likely change. What was once an AoE petrify lasting, what is it - 30 seconds? Will probably because a 2-5 second petrifcy on player characters without the one-shot mechanic. =/
Rot still kills in one shot doesn't it?
Also Gorm, df sounds like a blast. If there is one thing df groups are known for, it's their coordination.
Aye. but I remember when High Voltage could -royally- **** a party and snowball straight into a whipe - often starting with healers not being able to get heals off, or tanks not being able to dodge Repellign cannons anymore. I imagine SE would've changed Rot if the Enrage method hadn't gained -so much- popularity. =/ In the end, doesn't seem like there's a point to change rot when no one does such a method.
That's why no more soft enrage nonsense for 2nd coil, everything's hard enrage now. No more AoE heal spams on T2 and T4 to get it done.Aye. but I remember when High Voltage could -royally- **** a party and snowball straight into a whipe - often starting with healers not being able to get heals off, or tanks not being able to dodge Repellign cannons anymore. I imagine SE would've changed Rot if the Enrage method hadn't gained -so much- popularity. =/ In the end, doesn't seem like there's a point to change rot when no one does such a method.
