    The idea that holmgang needs to = paladin's hallowed is dumb. They are not the same class. They have different abilities and uses. They are not = nor should they be.

    I have used holmgang to survive many times. Sorry you can't figure it out.

    Holmgang doesn't need to be Hallowed Ground, nor should it. However, it's currently trying to be too many things at once and sucks at all of them. It honestly doesn't even fit that well into the Warrior tanking mantra of "weaker effect but more frequent use" because the situations where you'd use a skill like Holmgang are likely going to be in later phases of a fight and it likely will not be off CD again at that point. Furthermore it's really easy to completely negate any benefit from it if you are healed during the duration. You effectively end up binding yourself for no reason. The only really useful times to use this is when I know I'm not going to get topped off for a Mountain Buster (or equivalent attack) and a damage reduction CD won't save me. As I said, these situations usually won't come up in competent groups until later phases of a fight so this skill ends up being used once a fight, maybe.

    It's current "can't die" mechanic just feels like it was added to appease Warriors that were crying that we don't have Hallowed Ground when we really don't need to have that skill to be fine. Make it a utility skill that is actually worth using rather than being a skill I pop when my healer falls asleep at the key board.

    I have also survived times using holmgang but it still doesn't make it any less than a shitty skill as it still doesn't bring much utility to the group.

    It won't give healers any breathing space, it won't get you through heavy damage phases, it doesn't lift any burden from the group.
    All it doesn't is give extra time to receive the heals that were already coming your way in hope to mitigate the risk of them coming too late. So yeah, you can still find use of Holmgang but it'd be much more useful without the bind still.

    I could completely remove Holmgang from my hotbar and no one would notice or blame me, and it would affect WAR ability to Tank.

    tldr: WAR without Holmgang is just as good as WAR with Holmgang so it'll be nice if SE could make it more useful.
