It's better to have a reminder than completely missing on using the LB bar. Don't take it personally.

I play caster DPS and the amount of times the melee DPS uses the LB too late is crazy. Sometimes I nearly finish the boss off before the animation finishes.

*puts hand up* am guilty of this. Usually when I should've went to sleep hours ago :3 but in saying so, I have had caster dps jump the gun with LB, specifically when aiming to skip a phase (brayflox hm) not that it matters but it's a bit of a "noooooo" moment ^^
Back to the main point. I don't mind at all when other players write LB in party chat. Especially if the instance/mechanics are unfamiliar. Mind you I don't see it very often. Might be because most of the DF parties I fall into are JP.
I can honestly understand not trusting people in DF. Although I can't make that statement from the right end. I botched the phase skip on Brayflox a fair number of times, and now my FC outright refuses to do soldiery runs with me, and I've missed out on a few Levi EX/Coil farms. This kind of elitism is to be expected -- they pay good money to enjoy a game and having to run all the way to the boss because someone didn't want to listen isn't exactly 'enjoyable'. Unless I've done the fight 159 times (Brayflox, you colorful filcher, you) I feel as though hitting the LB without being strictly told to is a grave error in judgement. Maybe I'm not smart enough to think for myself -- but being a bad dps does have its consequences. Take some time, and follow peoples advice. It might make a better man/woman/hermaphrodite/water nymph/dullahan out of you.
You guys need to chill out. Most people just say it as a reminder that the LB is full and ready to use, not USE IT RIGHT THIS SECOND. There are times when you are into the fight and not paying attention to the LB bar (as any job), and it is nice to have a reminder. Plus if I am in DF… I don’t know you; I don’t know what you have and haven’t done. I’m going to say LB when I want, get over it.
As a PLD (or SCH with Friend Tank), playing with my GF SMN when we do Dungeons with another one, I will ask if they are ok that we'll let them the LB part of it.
Usually the answer are: np, okay, etc..
That's it. If the answer is short, it seems they know what to do and when to do it. I let them have fun and discover, just like I let them open chest at the mimics ^^
If they don't know when to use it for a specific fight, I will assume they will ask before the fight comes around. If we wipe and they are like: oh, I didn't know I should have LB at this time.. shame but.. it's a lesson learned.
It's only one wipe. 5 minutes lost of your precious time. on the plus side, this DPS on this particular place learned and progressed through the game.
Instead of blaming/bashing anyone, especially in DF where you don't give a 2Cents cause you might never see that person again, it's still a person that's enjoying the game, and like everyone (assumption here) wants to improve.
Chill out and be helpful - give tips instead of swearing - you'll feel good about it, for having made the FFXIV community a better one, one DPS/Healer/Tank at a time.
Thank you for reading, now send me your commendations - Muhahahaha!![]()

A simple "Hello! I'm new to DPS with this alt class; don't hesitate to give some tips, like when I should use LB, if it's me that has to do it. Let's have fun! ^^"
So hard.. *even peeps with controllers told me they can type..
I don't understand if you were agreeing with me or criticizing me but I... do that.
