This is ridiculous. I'm saying I don't need to be told when to do it.

If someone is typing "LB LB LB LB" instead of concentrating on the fight then they're not doing their job properly.

People can be super rude about it too, I've seen "Fucking LB it", "LB now wtf" etc. THOSE are the times where I won't do it just to annoy those people, and usually call them out on it too.

This is especially annoying in Brayflox HM, since someone will say it every single run. As a melee DPS, I have it down to a science for when to LB on the last boss to bypass the third phase. What really gets me, is that half of the time, they tell me to LB too early, anyway.

The only thing more frustrating is when there is another melee DPS in the group and they invariably do LB too early and end up wasting it entirely.

99% of the time, if a non-dps tells you to "LB!!!!!!" (and it is ALWAYS tanks or healers telling the dps to) you will either be dead (e.g. Titan landslide while in the LB animation) or the target will disappear before the damage gets applied (e.g. Siren, Garuda) or the timing is not correct to skip a phase (e.g. Brayflox HM).

I highly doubt you are running those same bosses "99%" of the time.

Chances are, if someone is asking you to use it, you should have already used it at that point.

Because it is the most obnoxious thing in the world to either not use it or use it when a boss is at like 1%. Which many DPS players do. Annoyingly.

OP, I have to disagree. Everybody play this game in a different way, and it doesn't hurt to ask the DPS to LB. I don't know if that DPS will do it when he has to do it, so I better tell him to do it instead of risking. I met a lot of DPS that won't use it unless they're asked to. Some people are just afraid of using their LB because they think they'll be yelled for it. There're other DPS that are just allergic to DPS, they won't use it.

Chances are, when someone has to ask, you're already doing it wrong (or not doing it).

And why MUST we do it? To end the fight 10 seconds sooner? If it where a matter of life and death then I could see the purpose, or in fights like Levi and Titan where a mistake COULD cost the win. But, like the OP, I get tanks screaming at me to LB demon wall or Ifrit HM nails, and to which I ask why? We can kill it perfectly fine without using LB and thus saving LB for when it IS NEEDED. My argument here is based on non-raid situations and LB1. LB2 is def worth using but LB1... meh.

Do you know how many bad DPS's there are? o.O Honestly, you HAVE to tell the majority of DRGs/MNKs when to use LB as they for some reason want it to be the finishing blow :S Just use it already, there is usually no point in waiting until it kills the boss. Better have it deal more damage :P

With all the comments here (From tanks and healers, surprise) that DPS players are all so bad, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they're doing it to you lot out of spite.

No I believe that most good DPS go unnoticed, not intentionally, but it is much easier to remember that DRG who ate every WotL than it is to remember the one who dodged everything and managed cooldowns for jumps and gaols appropriately.

For all battles where wiping is likely to occur the LB meter still resets while you retry the boss anyway.

Properly timed limit breaks can literally help skip a mechanic or phase i.e BL hard final boss is a good example. You can bypass the superbomb by using lb at roughly 10% give or take your current dps and if you have lb2.
