I spent 1mil gil melding gear for miner and botanist for my retainers, if they bring back fish I'll be annoyed.!!

my glad ilvl 70 was so much easier to get, 200k in mats, done.

although I don't recall what he bought me on my first venture the other day I know it was useless

So far I am quite dissapointed with the Level 50 ventures. My retainers always bring back the same stuff. ALWAYS. Combat brings HQ Couerl skin, Botanist brings Dzemael tomatoes, Miner brings Cocoons and I do not even talk about the fisher..he only brings back utter CRAP. Like one NQ fish. 18 hours for that? Really?

1 million in melds what. I bought 1-2 T3 and like 8 T2 gathering materia, then spend half an hour spiritbinding lv5-10 gear and ended up breaking even in costs. Granted I can make/meld all the gear but that's what, 150k.

At any rate, I've been doing rank 13 explorations for the past two weeks and have gotten 2 mindflayers and 4 light steel/taffeta. So that's what, 40ish attempts over 3 retainers with 6 successes. A lot of HQ Coeurl Meat/ Hippogryph hides/Mahi for sure but it's a better chance than farming Leviathan mirrors or atma.

Before I've managed to meld my Retainer's Miner outfit to 388 GA / 383 PE (and yes, I know GA is 5 over the requirement but I've just used most of my stockpiled materias to meld it) I've send him to level XI venture and got ... Mossy Stone Bow! Couldn't find any in the sale history on MB, just one for sale at 250k but I'll instead try to craft it into HQ Giantsgall Longbow once I'll get my ALC up. Haven't check it that has been sold or is on sale at MB but will check tonight.

Got the Taffeta Cloth last night from XIII (can't remember though if it was Miner or Botanist).

I got one of those Gerbera things for the spring hat from a Fishing XII last night. Just a couple more melds and the fisher can go out on the XIII ventures. My BLM retainer in the past 3 days have brought back Coeurl Meat. blech

I got a Taffeta Cloth from THM XIII as well. Too bad it's only used for vanity gear and my melds aren't quite high enough for me to make the hard hippo leather or rose gold ingot they need ;(

I was able to gather everything you need for the Taffeta Loincloth in about 5 minutes, and a FC member was able to craft in in about 2. It was on the market board for 3 minutes before selling.

250k towards a large house isn't bad for about 10 mins of effort.

Oh, I can make the shawl and pants (326 craftsmanship) but I can't make the ingot/leather (higher min requirement) and it sort of eats into the profitability of selling it buying those on the market. I don't care to vanity anything (except maybe the fkn evenstar coat...) I was just gonna sell the cloth and was thinking of whether it would be worth the synth for more $$$. My FC has enough max-melded crafters as well if I REALLY needed something; just don't want to whore them out for extra gil for myself is all. But thanks for the offer ^_^
