I have noticed that! I'm so glad you mentioned the ventures! I was unaware you could get them via seals! I've always just used what I've gotten from my Kobold Daily Quests and I run out fairly quickly. Is the best way to use the ventures just to have the retainers run "Quick Exploration" over and over again and play the random reward game? I do find it enjoyable regardless.
