Treasure Chest in Brayflox HM

So just a curious observation:

So quick backstory: the first time I ran Brayflox HM, the party grabbed every chest on the way to the final boss. Well I died at the very end of the boss fight, and accidently ported back to the beginning. Well after shortcutting back, I noticed a chest that no one had grabbed. It's very close the cave entrance of the final boss in a little campsite. Inside was a Darklight Band of Casting. Score for my SMN! And of course since I was the only one left in the dungeon as everyone else had left, it automatically went to me. So the next time I ran the dungeon with a DF group I purposely waited after everyone left and went back to the same chest (I couldn't remember if we'd opened it on the run or not) and lo and behold, it was unopened and I got a Darklight Band of Healing!

I've run the dungeon twice more and every time, every group bypasses the chest, and if I wait until everyone leaves, I'm always guaranteed to run back and claim the treasure, which has always been a good piece of gear (things I can use and also some I can't).

So my question is: Is this chest just that unknown, or are folks running past it on purpose? Also these haven't been speed-run groups.

A lot of people don't have any interest in chest and will not even spend 3 seconds to open them ,as DL gear is not very valuable right now.

I don't get this mentality though, can't you trade them in for GC seals? I mean they aren't super useful but you could spend them on ventures or something.

Well, for exemple, for me, trade items for seals it's a bit inconvenient, selecting then one by one searching at the list.... I understand that some people do it, but I just don't need those seals cause I don't want ventures or anything. Is content that I have no interest in.

Yeah, you coud do some money just for spending it on items and selling them too. But well, I'm too lazy. Maybe a lot of people is as lazy as me and don't want to deal with the ankward FF XIV interface

It woud be deferent if it was a bit more easy, like right click & sell... But speaking with the NPC each time....

Yeah, seems not alot of people want the bulk of chests in Bray'hell'. I go for them, though, because I want the seals and sometimes it's a keeper. Not often, but sometimes. I still have yet to get any new gear from the new hard dungeons that I can actually use and when it is something I can use, I'm always lotted out from under. T,T

Are you kidding? Seals can buy the old tome materials which, depending on the demand, can easily be turned into quick gil at a decent exchange. Especially with how many seals each one takes. And then there's ventures, it's amazing what those retainers can manage to stea-uh, find. Yeah, find...

You mean the area where you need to free 3 Gobbies, where you can find a chest at the little camp where raptor(s) roam? Well, there is another chest on top of that little building with the circular staircase. (^_~ )

But, yeah. Most people chose to ignore those chest (as well as the 2 chest near Coeurls, after the 2nd boss)
